Was that when Pujols stole Lidge's soul? He was broken, even when traded to the Phils.

No need to save a seat for me ! Astros will be be no better than a .500 club for the foreseeable future !

For the life of me, I STILL don't get why this is the most remembered moment from that series. We won!!! Yeah, that was a blast, but the 'Stros still won that series. It's so annoying to constantly see it brought up/replayed.

That moment gets a lot of love for not changing the outcome of the NLCS that year.
Except it fricking cost the Astros the World Series because it obliterated the once-unhittable Brad Lidge and turned him into a whimpering puddle of mush.

A 4-0 sweep had everything to do with the relief pitcher.

Lidge was fragile the entire year. I distinctly remember bitching because they brought Lidge in to face Pujols. Because he was Lidge's Lou Heywood

i drive by Drayton McClane's house 3-4 times a week. Sometimes i love him for getting them to the show and sometimes i want to leave bags of crap on his door for destroying them for so long afterwards for $$$.

A 4-0 sweep decided by a grand total of 6 frickING RUNS in which that relief pitcher gave up the winning runs in 2 of the 4 games, including a walkoff homerun to Scot fricking Podsednik absolutely has a LOT to do with the relief pitcher.

Still doesn't change the fact that Lidge was a ticking time bomb before that. Like he's been his entire career.

I don't think there's anyone in my life that I've trusted less watching baseball

I think most analysts peg them to be a .500 club this year; first time in 5 or 6 years. they most certainly will be an improved club; hell, how can they not be. the number of top round (1-4) draft picks they've had the last 5 years is amazing.

their formula? suck as much as possible for as long as tickets are selling and stockpile as much talent as possible. they got the sucking part for a long time thing down pat.
