Stadium concerts aren't as common as you think. Definitely don't justify the city's investment

I don't think I am the one that is wrong here. And you missed the point. There are more events that occur in an NFL stadium during the year than NFL games. They get utilized From a variety of sources.

The benefit is clearly a local economic one, so it makes sense for the local municipality to fund it. It's an investment, not an expense to build a stadium.

Oakland isn't doing much of anything to keep them. Are the Chargers making any progress in San Diego?

NFL stadiums are terrible investments. One billion for 7-8 games a year? No way it can repay that cash.

In a smaller market, I'd agree with you.

However, this is Vegas (Sparta).

A stadiun of this location will host the NFL slate of home games, UNLV games, neutral site college football games, mega conventions, soccer games, & the world's greatest stadium concerts.
With the concerts, we're talking around the biggest acts in the world-not just the US. Vegas & music companies from around the globe will partner to bring in unreal events which will then bring in unreal amounts of international gamblers.

Vegas just seems like a market you want your business to be in simply from the exponential international exposure. This is important for the NFL especially as they try to export their product and need all the help they can get outside of this continent.

I doubt that is true, I am sure the majority of the money will come from visiting taxpayers. Also, an NFL team will EASILY bring in an extra 750 million over 10 years in gaming alone.....the total impact on the economy over the first 10 years will be many times more than that.
