I have just started getting interested in MLB for this season. Is Chapman the designated closer now? Miller to be the set up guy?

Line up--
Ellsbury
Gardner
Castro
Tex
Beltran
Arod
McCann
Headley
Gregorius

Rotation
Tanaka
Eovaldi
Pineada
Nova
Severino
CC spot starts?

Who is the favorite to win the AL East?

Don't think they've said who will be the closer yet, but probably Chapman.

Miller has said he'll be in whatever role the Yankees want him.

Yankees will have a pretty good team this year. Rotation will be pretty solid if they can avoid injuries. I expect A-Rod to have a big drop off. I'd imagine Boston will be the "favorite" and then underachieve again. Yankees should win around 88-90 games.

ETA: Sabathia will be in the rotation. I bet Nova is the odd man out. Might go with a 6-man rotation at times this year to avoid injuries. But, if we're being real, at least one of the Yankees' rotation arms will be injured at all times this year, so it'll just turn into a 5-man rotation with 6 guys.

Is there a right hander they can put between Chapman and Miller if needed?

Uhhh... yeah

Yanks will have the best 7-8-9 in baseball and it's not close.

Girardi already named Chapman the closer.

Three relief pitchers had 100+ strikeouts in 2015.

They will all be Yankees in 2016.

He'll go into the season as the closer, but I bet you both Chapman and Miller finish the season with double-digit saves.

I don't think you'll see a ton of regular season games where all three are used. Betances and Miller wore down in September last season, and I think Girardi wants to try to avoid that this season by not using them too much in May, June, and July.

Once September and October roll around, and they are fresher than a year ago, I think you'll start to see them used as a true 7-8-9 a lot more.

Well you can count on them needing to eat up 5 innings anytime CC starts.
