How did it feel to come sooooo close only to watch your team choke away what was probably your last chance at a Super Bowl for a while? I know when the Saints won the Super Bowl in 2009 it was an incredible feeling. I couldn't imagine the agony you as a fanbase are feeling this morning. I feel your pain...Well, not really, but I can only imagine. It's definitely a game of inches

i'm sure at least half of em expected to blow it during half time but for them to do it in such spectacular fashion was almost unbelievable

I was at a Falcons fan viewing party. It was quite the emotional roller coaster.

Being a fly on that wall was pretty enjoyable. I secretly had my Drew Brees socks on. I'm pretty sure that's what gave the Patriots the win.

What am I missing? They ran roughshod over everyone in the playoffs and came up short in OT to the GOAT

Hate to break up the party in south Louisiana, but the Falcons started 4 rookies on defense last night and Julio Jones/Devonta Freeman/Tevin Coleman/Matt Ryan return.

That team hasn't peaked yet. I'm sure they're all very disappointed but excited about the direction of the franchise. How about you?

My friend blacked out when they were up 28-3. Thought they won when he woke up this morning. Said he turned on the tv and started shedding tears

Its tough to make the Super Bowl. Lots of luck involved.

And you lose Shanahan.

It sucks but life goes on. I wasn't celebrating hard when we were up big. I was the only true Falcons fan at the party(everyone else was pulling for us by default) and was explaining to everyone that I wasn't going to be comfortable until the game was over.

Maybe next year but as NFC south fans we all know these opportunities don't come often

This is the truth.

Future looks great though. Wouldn't have traded this season with anyone else's but the patriots.

It wasn't tough at all for either team this year. I mean that was an historically good offense that returns essentially everyone. There will be two, maybe three teams with better odds than Atlanta next season. I'm a big NFL fan without a particular team, fantasy keeps me in the loop, to think Atlanta is on anything but the upswing seems silly though.

Based on your posts this football season, it really really seems like you enjoy cheering against the Falcons more than anything else. It's kinda weird. Live your own life, man
