From Austin, TX to Kiln, MS is about an 8 hour drive. In that trip you will find many talented NFL QBs:

Austin- Brees (Foles)
Katy- Andy Dalton
Sugarland- Derek Carr (prepped there)
Houston- Andrew Luck
ETA Dallas- Matt Stafford
Shreveport- Terry Bradshaw
Breaux Bridge- Jake Delhomme
Doug Williams- Zachary
Peyton- NOLA
Eli- NOLA
Favre- Kiln, MS

you will also have 6 Super Bowl MVPs, four from Louisiana.

Is this the richest area in the country for QB talent? Obviously the population of TX helps; but you could argue the QBs from Louisiana are far more prestigious and much less populated.

Bonus: head north after visiting Favre for 4.5 hours and you come to Drew, MS and Archie Manning, patriarch of the Manning family.

If I have forgotten anyone; please feel free to add.

Shreveport is kind of out the way from the rest.

You could make the drive from Austin-Sugarland-Houston-Breaux Bridge-Zachary(a little out the way but not too bad)-NOLA-Kiln fairly easily.

Going to Shreveport puts you way out they way of any other city.

I understood that when I typed it; but if that's the only outlier; I'm fine with it.

No shite. If you're adding Shreveport why not Dallas too? The whole point of your post seemed to be QBs along 71 and I-10 and you throw in one from 200 miles north.

Your list may be more for current players but western Pennsylvania has all time on lockdown. Marino, Unitas, Montana, Kelly, Namath and Blanda.

That is pretty impressive. I didn't realize Blanda was from PA. See this is how you conversate with people.

But if we're counting Shreveport, then we should count Dallas, Tyler, and Longview too

The Southern California area has to be up there.. Leinart Palmer Cassel and Sanchez all played in the LA/Orange County area. That's just off the top of my head. Granted it's an extremely population dense area but take 100 square miles and it's a QB hotbed.

However, while those four played for the Trojans, Pete still decided to import some QB talent from Shreveport.... so maybe your 8 hour stretch wins after all.

Strange drive that takes you through Dallas and Shreveport on the way from Austin to New Orleans.

That makes it a bit more than 8 hours. It's 8 hours just from Dallas to New Orleans.

Hardly, only one LA QB you listed is still in the league and you left off two heismen winners and Vince young off of Texas.

Besides that the high school game in Texas is drastically different than it is in the Deep South. They don't share much other than climate, which is undeniably a reason.
