Of course they're still expressing excuses for the title game loss and blaming the weather, all that bullshiit sour grape losers do.

Fouts is usually very candid about that game in interviews and takes the blame for the loss. He said once that the biggest difference in that game was Ken Anderson could throw spirals that day and he couldn't.

Ken Anderson, one of THE MOST underrated quarterbacks in the history of football. Can imagine he and Bert Jones would slaughter fantasy football in the 1970s.

How stupid are you??? You really think that if the Dolphins would have played Chicago in the 1986 SB they would have beaten them...

Dude you are like 24-2 years old... you have zero clue .....

What did Fouts throw 4 picks?

Ala Spygate...Sports Illustrated wrote an article back then claiming the Oilers stole the Chargers signals...and knew all the plays before the snap. And had practiced all the plays ala Patriots before playing the Rams.

I mean, that's the major sports magazine at the time in America - so that's a pretty big deal.

It helps explain why Fouts had his worst game of the season by FAR.

They did tender the Bears their only loss that season and Marino threw for 3 TDs against that 46, we'll never know if they would've beaten the Bears had they not been upset by New England but they were certainly capable of achieving as such. Certainly better odds than the Tony Eason-led Patriots(lmao). At one point in that game the Dolphins were leading 31-10.

Bears played like crap in that game.

Watched it live.

And still had a chance to win.

Every great team has an off night.

There isn't a chance in hell the Dolphins beat them in a rematch on the biggest stage.

In spite of Sports Illustrated's claim, the Chargers actually led the game for the most part until the Oilers' go ahead in the 3rd and Fouts exceeded 300 yards passing with over 50% completion pct but 5 INTs will ALWAYS kill a pass-oriented team just ask the 1986 Miami Hurricanes

Led the expansion Jacksonville Jaguars to 2 AFC title games as an expansion team in his first NFL head coaching post, also led Boston College to a monumental upset of no. 1 Notre Dame in 1993.

1977 Falcons gave up 9.2. That's the record in the Super Bowl era.

Of course we all unequivocally know the 1991 Philadelphia Eagles defense is the GOAT defense but that's irrelevant to the overrated coach thread
