Don't make YOUR prediction, predict what you think the committee will do.

I think they make a statement

1. Clemson (playing the best right now)
2. TCU
3. Baylor Essentially saying if they stay undefeated the winner between TCU/Baylor is in
4. LSU SEC champ if it ended today

5. Ohio st Basically if they win out they're in bc Baylor/TCU can't both win out

1) Clemson
2) LSU

Clemson/LSU will be 1-2 in some order.

3) Michigan State - they've done more than any big ten team so far

4) TCU or Ohio State

4th is the trickiest spot. Neither really has done that much, but they both are undefeated too.

OSU
CLEMSON
LSU
Michigan St

In that order

Moratorium on TCU and especially Baylor to play better OOC because of conference relative suckage

1. Clemson
2. LSU
3. TCU
4. Baylor

This is the part of the season where they like to look like they don't have any bias. They'll "punish Ohio State" and put Baylor fourth because of a crappy schedule. Then Ohio State will beat a team with a winning record and the above teams will lose a game or two because they actually play decent teams and they'll move them right up.

We will have at least 10 more of these before tomorrow night

1. Clemson
2. LSU
3. OSU
4. Baylor

I don't think you leave OSU out at any point of the season if they remain undefeated. For some reason that seems dangerous: ie last year if ACC was deemed worst conference and 4 other conference winners won out you couldn't possibly leave defending champs out could you?

I don't understand the love for Clemson. I'm not sold on them at all.

They are supposed to be ranking teams "up until now", not projecting future results like you suggest.

I'm predicting:

1. Ohio State
2. LSU
3. Clemson
4. Michigan State

LSU #1, Clemson #2, I personally think that's a lock
After that it's anyone's guess.

OSU
LSU
Climpson
MSU

Baylor and TCU are paper tigers as usual and I'm not so sure Climpson isn't in the same boat. All three would get killed by any team with some semblance of a pass rush.

It's a travesty that any sec team be ranked in the top 4

Yea, I think some of your comments are spot on as evidenced by when they had what, Ole Miss and MSU or Bama in 2/4 or 3/4 spots last year? And everyone was all butthurt? Last year they did a good job of understanding the rankings are a marathon and not a sprint. Its ok to rank teams in the present knowing that it will change in the future, without trying to predict.

I think:

1. Clemson
2. LSU
3. Baylor
4. TCU

To me, what will be most interesting is how they position Iowa, Mich St, and OSU

They also never had a ranking that didn't include the defending champion. I'm not going to campaign for OSU being in the top 4 now because I don't really care, since if they win they are in probably as the #1 seed

Totally agree. And I think they really did hue closely to their stated criteria. So, given that SOS is a big deal, as well as "game control" (a substitute for "how do you look" subjective test), I'd guess the list would be:

1 Clemson
2 TCU
3 LSU
4 Ohio St

Baylor's SOS and injury issue will keep them out of the top 5. TCU has a similarly weak schedule, but Minnesota looks like a better win now and also TCU has started to destroy teams again. LSU lacks "game control", but likely has played a tougher schedule than any of the other contenders, aside from Clemson, who has that huge Notre Dame win to brag on.

The official standard for "quality win" is "bowl eligible". Right now, TCU and Baylor have combined for zero wins over bowl eligible teams, and maybe only one or two against teams likely to be eligible. That's a huge anchor on their ratings.
