It's the weakest division this year IMO, which is strange to say when not so long ago the Red Sox Rays and Yanks wre all contenders and the Jays were finishing above 500 pretty regularly it seemed like

Cubs ain't making a wild card much less winning the central. Give them another year and maybe with some of their youngsters and a little more fine tuning. They ain't going from worst to first.

AL East- Sox
AL Central- Indians
AL West- Angels
AL Wild Cards- A's, Jays
NL East- Nats (easiest call here)
NL Central- Cards
NL West- Dodgers
NL Wild Cards- Pirates, Mets (long shot, but I don't like many NL teams)

Hamel is a mediocre pitcher who had a career year last year (as did numerous other Cubs) until he got to Oakland. Cubs gain Lester but lose Shark who they had for several months. The cubs certainly have the most media hyped manager. They are counting on many young unproven players whom the hype machine has convinced people that all will be all stars. Maybe 81-81

Nats. Pirates. Dodgers. Cards and mets for wildcard with Marlins. Padres and giants close.
Jays, Indians, angels. Mariners and Royals for wildcard. As, orioles, Red Sox, Yankees and white sox close.
Tigers are going to collapse with age and some lack of talent in pen, thin rotation and weak spots in the field. I may be a year early on the Tigers, but it's coming soon. Redsox lack top-end pitching but have a chance.

Lot of ballsy picks there.

I think the AL East teams are all pretty similar. All of the teams can hit, but none have any pitching. Is there even a frontline starter in that division outside of a healthy Tanaka?

Dude totally ignored my boy Alex Cobb, and the Rays couldnt hit water if they fell out of a fricking boat.

The Rays are pretty much the exact opposite of what he said. We can't hit worth a shite, but we've got pitching.

Funny. I was targeting Zimm and you sniped me, so I settled on Cobb. Now I'm glad how that worked out.

I guess the rays and Cubs are, but I pick the rays every year so it's really just the Cubs

I was speaking on the contenders in the AL East that were mentioned in the thread already. BAL, TOR, NYY, and BOS
Cobb isnt a frontline guy at this point. He needs to log more than 166 IP, first.

May be a bit of a reach, but the Brewers have a nice lineup with solid pitching. No real studs but they have guys who get people out. Carlos Gomez, Braun, Lucroy, Aramis Ramirez, Adam Lind - those are proven MLB bats. Guys like Gennett, Khris Davis, Parra and Segura have flashed and decent MLB players.
I like how the Mets rotation stacks up and their lineup is better than people think. They are a long shot, but I think those NL WC spots are up for grabs. No teams really stand out in the NL to me outside of LAD and WAS
