Got the charity invite to Foster Farms Bowl last year after failing to win 6 in the regular season. Humiliated by Purdue last year, freaking Purdue. Mike Riley is going to take them nowhere. That program might not recover from this prolonged stretch.
I don't know about that. They were in a lot of games and had a tough go around last year. They've had a lot of close losses and while I think the ceiling with Riley is 8-4, 9-3 type seasons, I wouldn't say they "might not recover".
No offense, but if Iowa can do it, certainly Nebraska can.
BYU 33-28 (hail mary)
Miami 36-33 (OT)
Illinois 14-13 (Illinois scored with 10 seconds left)
Wisconsin 23-21 (46 yard field goal to win)
Northwestern 30-28
(undefeated) Iowa 28-20

Virginia Tech would be my first choice.
God I hate their fans.

I don't have much hate as I've gotten older, but as a Michigan fan, ND and OSU would be the obvious choices. An interesting question for Michigan fans is, which team do you hate more? Sometimes, you'll hear ND as they have the TV deal and OSU is just some good ol big ten baws with a blue collar fanbase like Michigan. But, there is also the snobby M fan who respects ND academics, generally gets along with their fans and thinks OSU is trash.
Living in Chicago, my experience has been much more with the latter versus the former.
Chicago has the reverse element, in a way. The Northside has a lot of actual ND alumni who, while not necessarily liking or even respecting Michigan, appreciate what the game is and what it means.
The Western and Southern burbs and the Southside of the city are absolutely chock full of the hatin' types. I'm pretty sure you know what I'm talking about here.
I don't have much opinion on OSU fans either way. They were absolute trailer trash at the 2006 Fiesta Bowl, but that was one game.

SEC: Alabama. It would be awesome to see the Tide go through a 25 year losing streak with half-empty Bryant-Denny stadium.
that would be entertaining after Saban leaves
Big 12: Baylor - mostly because of the recent scandal
Notre Dame: obnoxious fans, kige
Big 10: PSU - karma

On the flip-side, Nebraska should never lose to Illinois or Purdue, two absolute bottom-dwellers in the B1G.
In 2015, Illinois and Purdue combined for three B1G wins, two of which came against Nebraska. The other win came from Illinois beating Purdue. Over the last five years, they have combined for 17 B1G wins.
Now, admittedly, I should yield and agree that I wouldn't say Nebraska "might not recover," but they aren't in a terrific place, either.
Nebraska has a cordial fan-base, but it is also a very naive one. Its one that has felt entitled about its place among the elite CFB programs and think they will revert back to the mid-1990's at any time. I don't dislike the Huskers, but the conversations I've had with some of their fans have me hoping they maintain a state of mediocrity.

ACC: Miami. Fake fans. Build your own stadium.
Que?
Current Miami fans are some of the most loyal fans in CFB. In the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, sure, but a current fan has my respect.

[quote]None of them. It sucks seeing traditional powerhouse teams down. Football is better when those traditional teams are good.[/quote

I get what you are saying, but the two premier Big 10 "darlings" have experienced the same:
Michigan lost to Illinois in 1999, 2008, 2009.
Michigan lost to Purdue in 1996, 2000, 2008, and 2009.
Ohio State lost to Illinois in 1999, 2001, 2007.
Ohio State lost to Purdue in 2000, 2004, 2009, 2011.
In my opinion, Texas should never lose to Iowa State or Kansas. Alabama should never lose to Kentucky or Vanderbilt. USC should never lose to Washington State or Oregon State.
Point being, shite happens. Especially when you have a first year coach implementing a new system. These aren't the players he recruited and these are new coaches with new philosophies and strategies for these players. Give them so growing room. They had a lot of close calls and they finished strong with a convincing win over UCLA.

I agree with you there. My encounters with Nebraska fans have been pretty pleasant for the most part. They utterly despise us considering they could never really ever beat us, even in their prime.
With the current footprint of college football, very few teams will experience that type of dominate success. Nebraska...more likely than not...will not be one of them. For a state that doesn't produce any talent and thrown in a new recruiting bed (I assume Chicago is their bread and butter now), will have an uphill battle. I think their future outlook would be similar to Arkansas or Wisconsin. That's not a "flame" as both schools have gotten to BCS bowls in the past (Rose Bowl and Sugar bowl). They'll be perennial 8,9 win teams with maybe that exceptional season sprinkled in here and there.

LSU fans have an irrational hate for USC. Which is kind of sad at this point.

I would say A&M but someone already made that wish many many years ago and had it granted.
