Are they really trying to have 7 on 7 in the Olympics!? If so please sign me up! #GoldMedalPursuit @TeamUSA @Olympics
Derek Carr tweeted this.

Would be awesome, IMO.

Who would be your offense/defensive 7?

The court would be too crowded. Give me 3 on 3.

Who would they play against? This wouldn't be entertaining at all unless the US was allowed to have like 10 teams compete against each other

I doubt it. No competition and surely the NFL teams wouldn't want their stars putting their bodies at risk for this.

Surely other countries could throw together a team of 14. Of course, I don't think they would be on the USA's level, but still fun to watch.

I could see this being an issue, but at least it's 7 on 7 and not full contact like a normal game. Couldn't be anymore dangerous than basketball or soccer in regards to that.

Let's be real, he wouldn't be on the team, but I agree.

You also need recovery time between games and the Olympics have a compressed time frame. You'd need 7-minute quarters.

I'd say make it like college OT rule. Start from the 25 yard line.

Remember, it's 7 on 7 and I doubt they would play 15 minute quarters. The whole timeframe would depend on how many teams entered from other countries. I think they could do this even with the compressed time frame.

This might be competitive if we chose a random D3 school to represent us.

Might be to a set number, like 35 or something like that. I don't think a timed game would work for this.

In HS we did 7 ons with a set amount of possessions.
