I'll also offer this: the Orlando Magic very well could have, and perhaps, should have beaten the Lakers in the 2009 Finals.

They were one Courtney Lee missed layup on an alley-oop in game two and a Dwight Howard free throw in game four from being up 3-1 in that series.

Starting Nelson in that series is what fricked my Magic.

Couldn't agree more but is this actually unpopular?

Regardless it's the equivalent to communism in baseball IMO

I don’t believe in playoffs to decide league titles. A team should not be penalized simply because they don't matchup well with ONE team (in the playoffs).

If team B can beat teams C, F, H, and J, and those are the teams they play in the playoffs, are they really more deserving than team A, who can beat everyone (including team B) but team C who they lose to in the second round of the playoffs?

The fairest way to decide a championship is to have every team play each team home and away, and the team with the best record wins the championship. It doesn't always have the excitement of playoffs. But the Manchester City title over United a couple years back was the most exciting finish in sports.

I would rather be gouged in both eyes with chopsticks than watch NASCAR.

It amazes me that this garbage hasn't disappeared completely and I can't understand how anyone enjoys it.

I've got a feeling that Craig James may have actually only killed four hookers.

Allegedly.

New York Mythology Section:

1. A league does not "need" a good team in New York City in order to succeed, and it is not "good for (insert sport here)" when they do. Good for television? Absolutely. Does it make the sport "better?" No way no how.

2. The New York Knicks are not "one of the NBA's storied franchises." The Heat have more NBA titles. They have been around a long time. But hey, so have the Arizona Cardinals and they are not "storied."

3. If Rickey Jackson played for the Giants and Lawrence Taylor played for the Saints, Rickey Jackson would be the greatest outside linebacker to play the game.

4. Mickey Mantle was a good player and a tragic story, but he does not belong in the conversation with Willie Mays, Stan Musial and Hank Aaron.

5. I do not believe that Mickey Mantle hit a 600 foot home run.

6. The only New York athlete more overrated than Mickey Mantle was Joe Namath (but you already knew that).

7. The media cares A LOT MORE about what Rex Ryan says and the Jets in general than America does.

I agree 100% with this.

So each NFL team has a 62 game season?

So eliminate all the AFC teams, you still get a 30 game season.

The BCS as it is today is better than the upcoming 4 team playoff system will be.

1. The NHL playoffs are, BY FAR, the most exciting of all.
2. College baseball is over-coached, and under-taught. If I have a son lucky enough to choose between college baseball or the minors, I'd try my hardest to direct him to go pro.
3. College basketball is almost impossible to watch. It's like football on a basketball court. The refs need to learn to call fouls.
4. Blake Griffin is one of the best eight players in the NBA. People like to pick at his flaws, but don't give him credit for having a well-rounded game.

1. USC would have beaten Florida in the BCSCG in 2008, had they played.

2. College football should move to an 8 team playoff as soon as possible.

3. 2004 Auburn deserved a shot at USC in the BCSCG They were largely dismissed because they lost to USC in the regular season each of the previous 2 years, which had nothing to do with AU 2004.

4. British and European soccer clubs need a salary cap.

5. Women's college sports are largely unwatchable.

The REAL issue with the BCS was not how it picked a champion. It was the ridiculously easy way Notre Dame could get in and get a payday that they don't have to share with anyone, and the bowl games skipping the highest ranked BCS-eligible teams for their games (like when the Sugar Bowl skipped the top two eliible Boise State and Kansas State teams and picked Va Tech and Michigan instead). Those conferences and teams lost a chance at national exposure and a 10 million dollar payday.

Soccer in Scotland is better without Der Hun.

Rugby > American football

LSU's fans have gotten much worse...and it has nothing to do with corporations or the pricing out of the poor.

Jordan Jefferson, although absolutely awful, was better than Jarrett Lee.
