Cubs vs Rangers
Could easily see SF or Cleveland in it as well though.

from listening to media guys around the country, on local radio, it seems like all had same answers:
Texas was huge winner, got what they needed, and didnt give up profrar, etc.
Yankees winner for future, if these players pan out.
Cubs winners for bullpen help, but did give up talent.
Astros It seems media guys are shocked they didn't do anything, put their toe in the water and improve the team more. Curious if Astor fan is happy or disappointed in deadline action?
Cardinals media claim the won, by not giving up reyes/etc for 1 year help. I disagree, u sell high on highly touted pitching prospects with control issues, and you sell guys who wont be part of team next year. You can be a buyer and sell er deadline. And the price for even average players was high and was being paid. rather them sell off players who have no future, and bring in help for future. it is what it was.

The Yankees are going to be very good in the next couple of the years. The Reds have been trying that "long-term" planning, only to fail constantly. As a Dodgers and Reds fan:
AL:
WC: Detroit over Baltimore
DS: Boston over Texas; Detroit over Cleveland
CS: Boston over Detroit
NL:
WC: St. Louis over Los Angeles
DS: San Francisco over Chicago; St. Louis over Washington
CS: San Francisco over St. Louis
San Francisco over Boston
Or:
The Miami Marlins sneak in and beat the Cubs in the NLCS; they defeat the Indians to win a championship....then gut their team and suck for 10 years, then win another championship in 2027.

I'm guessing that the folks picking the Astros haven't been paying much attention to the pitching. Horrible rotation - just look how Detroit lit up Keuchel for 6 runs in the first on Sunday in a game that was essentially a must win.
If anything, they're a wild card team.
My pick is Detroit vs. Washington. Detroit in 6.

Right now I'd pick San Fran vs. Cleveland
I'll agree with you on that. Cleveland looks to be the strongest of the AL teams (Texas should be but its pitching is ... well, it's Texas pitching, back to the 1990's teams where we either win 12-11 or lose 12-11).
San Francisco, in addition to this being an even-numbered year, has Bruce Bochy. The goal of any MLB team should be to win the WS, and that's what Bochy does (thus I rank him the best manager in MLB).

It is an even year so the local team beats my Astros
