This is the only correct response to Pop's quotes.

You do know he won 3 states that hadn't gone republican since 1984, correct?

You do know his margin in the industrial midwest was the highest for a republican since ronald reagan, correct?

Donald's support was broad but not deep/concentrated. Her support was deep/concentrated but not broad.

He still lost by 3 million votes. Most Americans didn’t want him as president and even less do now.

This isn’t a difficult concept to comprehend.

He appealed to more sections and groups of americans than she did. This isn't difficult to understand.

Her entire pop vote margin was provided by los angeles county.

Trump won rural, suburban, exurban america. She ran up ussr-like margins in cities, and that is not enough in our electoral system.

Are you really trying to downplay the fact that trump won michigan, a state that in 2012 was as democratic as georgia was republican?

Trump and hillary camped out for 7 months in 10 states. Wisconsin, michigan, PA, Ohio, Florida, NC, Nevada, NH, Colorado, Virginia.

He won 6, she won 4.

The popular vote is not how you win an election, so it's a ridiculous thing to put weight on. It's like judging a football game by how many yards each team got rather than how many points they scored.

Both teams have the same goal: win more states, win more electoral votes. The nation becomes 10 states during an election. He won the popular vote in the states that were exposed to both candidates, heard their speeches, saw their ads.

They both had the same rules applied to them, and one clearly won.

nieher campaign gave a frick about the pop vote.

I don't really want to get into it but I doubt it's that simple

Being from the south, you probably realize that in deep red states there is a lot of voter apathy because it doesn't matter if you vote, the state is going to go red.

Same for states like California I'm sure.

So I never really know how to gauge the popular vote numbers.

It tells you how populous states feel.

It doesn't matter overall that californians hate trump by astronomical margins. Californians aren't some meta-represenative of the average american.

But more importantly, the popular vote is NOT A POINT OF BATTLE. It is not something that the campaigns battle to win, so it is ridiculous to use its outcome to say which person the country as a whole favored.

We are not the united people of america, we are the united states of america.

Pop, shut the frick up and figure out how to beat the goddamn Warriors.

DGAF about your politics. Been common knowledge for almost two decades here in SA that he hates the right. Funny how he didn't start piping up until he felt he had the capital to burn. He sure wasn't chiming his curmudgeonly arse in when he was 6-8 to start the 1999 season and about to get his pimpled arse run out of town on a rail.

fricking get Aldridge to quit being a shrinking violet in the postseason, keep Kawhi healthy, and get us another goddamn riverboat parade. Run for office and then I'll give a frick about what you have to say about politics.

You’ve still yet to prove to me how this shows how majority of Americans stand behind trump. Yes I know he won the right States. Yes I know voter turnout was down and trumps supporters showed out in droves. The election is the literally the only major success trumps has had as president, which is why he can’t stop talking about it 11 months later.

But none of this has anything to do with my original point, which is that majority of Americans are tired of his shite. They proved that on election night when 54% of Americans voted against him- and it shows now with his 30-something approval ratings.

He’s a terrible president and it isn’t close. Democratic or Republican.

Carolina Tide wants, on the one hand, to claim that trump is ruining america because of his actions, and then on the other hand claim trump has no "major successes"

That seems to be a paradox.

The truth is that he has been bad at dealing with congress, but he ahs successfully installed some major policies eh campaigned on. We are out of the TPP, the paris accord, among other international deals, which he harped on during the campaign trail.

His travel ban, which was laughed at on the campaign trail and brushed aside as an impossibility, is installed and has survived multiple court battles.

Gorsuch is on the supreme court.

Regulations are being scaled back at a rate higher than reagan.

The economy is on firm ground, and american consumer sentiment is the highest it has been since 2001.

Illegal immigration dropping like a fricking rock. Without even a wall built yet (for the record, IDGAF if it's built or not either way--just wanted more border security).

Taking tangible steps to fix the VA (unlike most POTUSs who only paid lip service to so doing).

I mean, frick, of course he hasn't accomplished all of his goals in Year goddamn 1. What president has?

But "no major successes other than winning the election?" frick outta here with that bullshite

What major legislation has he passed? Where’s the receipt from Mexico saying they’re paying for the wall? How’s Puerto Rico and California doing?

He set up a xenophobic pointless ban and propped up a Supreme Court Judge handpicked by Miconnell Pence and Ryan. All while playing golf and sending us to WWIII one tweet at a time.

Name one thing that Obama did that was worse than the lie Trump told today. Obama was no saint but his legacy will forever be looked upon more favorably than Trump. And not only because he was black, but because he was actually a competent president

Presidents don't pass legislation, bro. Republicans in congress are spineless, although trump doesn't help when he engages in fights with them.

Two questions

1) Why do you ignore the actual words of fair, objective elected officials in PR who have praised the federal government for the response? This includes the governor of the island.

2) What could the federal government have done differently?

Obama was no saint but his legacy will forever be looked upon more favorably than Trump. And not only because he was black, but because he was actually a competent president

Obama passed one key piece of legislation in eight years, the ACA.

The person he campaigned for and who he specifically said represented a continuation of his policies lost to a reality tv star who one month before was caught on tape talking about sexual harassment.

Look up at the last couple posts, man.

Neither xenophobic nor pointless but ok.

Gorsuch pick was absolutely nails. I defy you to posit otherwise.

Every POTUS golfs. Big whoop.

Not every POTUS refuses to pussyfoot about what our military can and will do if our enemies step out of line.

Easy. Hamstrung our warfighting capabilities and skyrocketed the national debt, to name a few.

By you. Definitely not by me. Definitely not by all.

not only because he was black

He was mixed.

quote:

because he was actually a competent president

So competent he had to ram through albatross legislation via executive order time and again, while apologizing to the world for America over and over again. Not to mention actively furthering the racial divide.

Nah bruh. frick him. Left the country a goddamn mess.
