They offered him extensions after the 2009, 2010, and 2011 seasons. He refused unless he got ridiculously overpaid. Saints didn't do contracts during the season like most teams do, yet, he was somehow harmed by it.

Would love to see a link to those extensions.

I highly doubt the Saints offered him an extension after 2009. It made zero sense. There were talks about it, but the Saints decided to let him play out his contract

What? I'm talking about the 2011 offseason. Once the 2011 season started, Brees had all the leverage and had taken the risk

Mike Iupati and Chris Myers need to come first, IMO.

Ridiculous how can they take that man's money away. The NFL is greedy.

Hopefully they can pay Knighton and Julius Thomas. With their cap space, it will be interesting to see what they do. They should have around 40 million in cap space to use with the Manning deal. I'm stoked.

Latrell Sprewell. That was his response to a 3yr/$21mil contract offer.

For some reason I thought it was more than that. But no matter, I was happy they told him to go frick himself.

I would love to have Terrence Knighton back, as he would fit well in Wade Phillips' 34 defense.

However, as for Julius Thomas, he doesn't really fit Gary Kubiak's offense. He's an outstanding play-maker out wide, but cannot block at all. And it will take a huge deal to sign him, leading to Denver overpaying.

IMO, Denver needs to make the following moves: Sign Mike Iupati, Chris Myers, a tight end to fit the offense and possibly a running back to back up CJ Anderson (no faith in Ronnie Hillman or Montee Ball).

That's just a restructure then
Peyton Manning will get $2,000,000 if Denver manages to win the AFC Championship Game and another $2,000,00 if Denver manages to win the Super Bowl.

Yeah another RB is a need. Hillman and Ball are pretty terrible
