So it's basically about a passed down fandom, not as much about region? Thanks, i was just wondering

FWIW, I know many Louisianans who love the Astros

We also had a NY version of TBS/WGN that showed Mets games.

True. Although i would consider South MS the diehards as far as Saints fans go

I have family from Atlanta, but I grew up in LA. dad was LSU/Saints all the way, but the Braves fandom trickled down from my grandpa and uncle to my dad and then me.

Yep growing up we took multiple trips every summer to see the Braves. Why would we ever go see the Falcons or Saints. We have Bama and Auburn

From my experience at UA, Alabama is pretty split/indifferent about NFL.

Some Saints fans, some Falcons, some Titans (parts of N. Alabama are only a few hours from Nashville), but for the most part, people don't really care about it as much as CFB.

That makes sense

I have always loved watching baseball, but never really rooted for one team or the other when it came to MLB. I do love some college baseball though, but that probably has much more to do with LSU being really good at it, especially when i was growing up in the 90's

I've always said that the South all cheers for the Braves because we couldn't take another sport to fight each other about.

If by decades you mean one year, you would be right. Assuming that you don't count Texas as being in the South.

Atlanta Braves 1966
New Orleans Saints 1967

The Saints don't count. They were viewed as an expansion team until a few years ago

Check me here.

Don't really care at all about NFL.

My first baseball memories was watching Chipper in '99 dominate. Forget the WAR and stats, he just was awesome that year. I learned statistics later and saw his WAR wasn't as good that year as it looked, which is why I'm much more skeptical about stats because he was just so awesome.
