Penn State will run a Wide Open "Oregon-like" offense this Season

This can go south real quick for Franklin. But, you gotta commend him. His offense has been anemic since he's been at Penn State, why not try something that's never been done before at Penn State. This screams like a guy who's on the Hot Seat if there's no imrovement

Jesus. Temple might have had 20 sacks, instead of merely 10, if Penn State ran that offense last year.

Didn't he run some pretty up-tempo stuff at Vandy? He inherited what's his face and had to mold his offense around him, I thought.

Sort of. It was more Pro Based sort of like a West Coast. This apparently will be Spread Read Option with a lot of tempo. Definitely interested in seeing this

Dennis Onkotz 1967 - 1969
Dennis Onkotz was a two time first team All American on the great Penn State teams of 1968 and 1969. Both teams went 11-0 with Orange Bowl wins over Kansas and Missouri.
Jack Ham 1968 - 1969
He went on to team up with Dennis Onkotz and Jim Kates in 1968 and 1969 to lay the foundation for the legacy that would go on to become known as Linebacker U.
Greg Buttle 1973 - 1975
Buttle still holds the single season tackle record as well as the record for tackles in a single game (24). His 343 career tackles were a school record until it was passed by Paul Posluszny in 2006.

Shane Conlan 1983 - 1986
The 1986 defense was one of the greatest of all time not allowing any opponents to score more than 19 points. In the Fiesta Bowl Conlan had eight tackles and two interceptions in leading Penn State to their second National Championship over the Miami Hurricanes.
Andre Collins 1986 - 1989
Brian Gelzheiser 1991 - 1994
Lavar Arrington 1997 - 1999
Lavar Arrington is easily the most physically gifted linebacker to every play at Penn State.
Brandon Short 1996 - 1999
On any other team, Brandon Short would have been the best player on the defense. But when you line up next to Lavar Arrington, people tend to call you "the other guy".
Paul Posluszny 2003 - 2006
Known simply as "Poz", Paul Posluszny embodied the Joe Paterno image of the student athlete. Hall of Famer Jack Ham once called him "the greatest linebacker to ever play at Penn State."
Dan Connor 2004 - 2007
In 2006 Connor was named First Team All American and finished second in the Bednarik Award voting to his teammate, Paul Posluszny. He is currently eighth on the all time tackle list and will most likely be the leader by the end of his career.

I know what you're getting at with Michael Robinson/Daryl Clark and Spread HD, but the way this system is being explained is High Octane, 4 WRs, Read Option offense. The Spread HD wasn't quite like that
