Watching the riots at Penn State, it is sad to think how many of those students really can't figure out right from wrong. I begin to worry more about out future.

And Obama got 98% of the youth's vote......

Is it POSSIBLE that JoePa did continue to ask the higher ups and is it POSSIBLE that there ARE BIGGER PLAYERS in this who wouldn't let it go forward? ESPECIALLY in light of what is said that will be going down later this week.

Might be true but he has a lot more power there than you might think.

I think it is the reason he was able to stay after 2004 even though they were trying to push him out... he had all that info that he probably used against the school to let him have his way.

He thought he could use it against them this time around too by saying he would coach until the end of the season... but they knew that it would come out eventually anyway so might as well start thinking of fixing their image now.

At least when UT burned chit it wasn't to support this something like this. Penn State looks very stupid right now.

he also seems to have a lot more enemies than one may think...

I still think that he should have been allowed to coach and re-think (mandate) his retirement as of this game.
Especially, since he did not commit the crime, no other facts are out and others are on the staff still.

It would not have split the Alumni (and students ) as it has. This could have had the same level of "preemptive meaning as what the trustees did and less rumbles.

I think some trustees saw an opportunity and took it under the umbrella of a "good reason".

Remember some of them wanted him to retire in 2002 or 2004 (don't remember) and he would not.

Whatever the so called "possible" distractions certainly would have been less than the riots.

he received 66% of the youth vote

it takes a fool to believe that the youth in America agree with the actions of a few Penn State students

Anyone know where I can find the grand jury report to read? I hear it's inhumane but would like to read anyway.
