Paul George is the Eastern Conference player of the month.

27.2 points
8.1 rebounds
4.4 assists
1.6 steals

4th in Def. Scoring
3rd in Point Differential

Started 0-3, but they are playing lights out. Fun to watch.

It's no coincidence that they broke these out this year either

you can tell PG put up a ton of shots during his layoff. Totally new player with his new found shot

538 article from the other day

quote:

the biggest shift in George’s playing style, as illustrated by Synergy’s play-type data, has been away from off-ball plays (spot-up jumpers and shots off screens) and to more on-ball ones (pick-and-rolls and isolations). In 2013-14, 21.5 percent of his possessions were as the pick-and-roll ball-handler; this season, that’s up to 25.2 percent. The spot-ups and off-screens dipped at about the same rate. In other words, George is being used even more as a facilitator, exploiting his matchups, not banging down low.

Having a second playmaker, Ellis,is a big reason for this.

I mean Ellis has actually been sort of a let down for them, but it doesn't hurt.

If anything this just speaks to how amazing Vogel and that franchise is. They were able to completely overhaul how they want to play in one offseason.

The Wiz tried to change up how they play and it has basically been a disaster.
