Can the Braves win championships? Hard to do when you don't make the post season. Even if you include Expos history, the Braves only have 1 WS in that time span.

Since 2005:

Braves - 2 NL East championships
Nationals - 2 NL East championships

Probably the dorkiest fan base in the country.

That said, good job Nats, enjoy your time in the playoffs.

There have been more Royals threads than Nationals threads this season but as soon as they clinch there are fans everywhere. Not surprised from a bunch of trash.

One of those I understand. Considering we're the best educated and most literate city in America, I'll admit to the former. You do see quite a few guys in pleated khakis at games, and then there was this t-shirt giveaway:

But trashy?

I don't think Nats fans are trashy, that shirt sums it up. The vocal portion of the fan base that I see consists of borderline hipster journos who are frequently new to baseball or sports generally. Dorky and annoying, but I don't think they're trashy.

I can't get my jimmies rustled by Nats fans, for the most part. I don't like losing to them, but it's like getting worked up about Vandy fans talking shite in the recent years that they're competitive.

I just wanted to pop in and say congratulations to the Nats for winning the NL East. Best of luck in the postseason and I hope y'all win the World Series.

But Vandy never won the SEC...Whereas the Nats have now won the division 2 out of the last 3 years. That isn't settling for being competitive.

Thanks for the props Sabi.

I was posting in Nats threads years before you even joined TD.

With no way of preventing Baltimore fans from getting tickets, I honestly think it would be more than that...hence why I don't want a beltway/parkway series. That would look terrible on TV.

Talking about the fans, not the on field product. Once the Nats settle in for longer and really get a firm and less transient fan base, I'll probably get more worked up over shite talking.
