Pac12 also plays 9 conference games, so I can see why they only have 11 games against the Big5.

And the media shouldn't lambast the SEC schedule. I do think at least 1 OOC should be against the Big5

Overall no...but a team like Florida not leaving the state of Florida for an OOC game since 1991 is ridiculous.

I honestly don't know why this is such a big deal to some people. Is our schedule weaker because we decide to play our major in-state rivals rather than cross state lines? Who should we schedule out of state? We aren't going to drop FSU, and most would still like us to play Miami on a more regular basis. That is a hell of an OOC slate on top of the SEC schedule.

FWIW, we are playing Michigan in Dallas in a few years so finally this stupid stat will be put to rest.

Someone needs to explain to me why scheduling a top tier FCS is looked down upon compared to Sunbelt type conferences. The top tier of FCS is clearly better on the field than the bottom 1/4 of FBS.

North Dakota beat P5 Iowa St. last weekend. McNeese beat P5 South Florida last year. There are double digit FCS wins over shitty FBS conferences each season. I read that McNeese finished last year ranked higher than more than half of the Sunbelt in rpi/sagarin.

Don't get me wrong, 95% of the time the top tier FCS is still a cream puff to the big boys. However, the bottom line is that the bottom 1/4 of FBS is worse and get a pass for some reason.
