The Pittsburgh Riverhounds have terminated the contract of forward Romeo Parkes in the wake of the Jamaican international's kick to the back of New York Red Bulls center back Karl Ouimette in Saturday night's USL match between the Riverhounds and Red Bulls II.

Ouimette was stretchered off the field, but not seriously injured, after the incident, which occurred in the final five minutes of Red Bulls II's 3-1 win in Pittsburgh after both Ouimette and Parkes were sent off. Ouimette was walking off the field when Parkes kicked him in the back.

I would have wrecked his face if I were Ouimette's teammate.

Are you sure that is MLS? Neither of those teams are MLS teams. Hell your own gif says USL.

No matter how bad it was, we know he acted like it was way worse. That's what soccer players do

Or you know getting kicked by cleats hurts like hell. Plus when drawing a foul is advantageous of course you are going to sell it, basketball players do it too.

Still though. Being wheeled off in a stretcher strapped down with a blanket over you is over the top. I love soccer but will never defend the ridiculousness of some parts of it.

Soccer guys usually do the Kevin Garnett pretend to want to fight thing, but props to #29, he was legit trying to go after the dude.

So is your point that flopping is not sucky, or that basketball can suck too?

Oh I completely think it is sucky. I think it is just one of those things that people make too big of a deal about.

The rules don't help though. One ref trying to watch everything. You are more rewarded just diving in the box after some contact instead of playing through it.

It's so constant and ubiquitous in soccer that it ruins the game for a lot of people. It just goes against all ideas of sporting and being manly. At least the NBA tries to do something about it. In soccer it's like an integral part of the game. I fricking hate it

This is such a reach

The NBA does less. They just slap a fine on someone after the game's already taken place. In soccer they will yellow card you during the match for a dive.

A reach? It happens all the time in soccer.

It happens a lot less, and there's less incentive to do it. What does the MLS or EPL or World Cup do? Nothing
