Interesting stuff

quote:

I am one of Daves best friends, and I can certainly answer a free of these questions for you.

1) Yes he really won a million (about 660k after taxes). He has placed in the millionaire maker the week before and won about 3k. He took all of that money and put a ton of lineups in the next week. Him and his brother put a ton of line ups in, they couldn't remember who put in the winning lineup, hence why there were two of them holding the check in the commercial.

2) We are from Boston, and that's where DK is based out of. They reached out the Dave and offered to host a party for him where they would video tape his reaction. They showed up with a ton a swag for everyone to wear, including DK decals to put on their patriots jerseys.

3) not going to answer that for Dave.

4) When they were filming the watch party, they had us all sign a waiver. A little shady if I'm being honest because they told us they were filming a Fantasy Football documentary, and the next thing we know the party is the face of their nationwide marketing campaign.

I'm more interested in the guy that started with $35 and parlayed that into more than $2 million in winnings.

I'm sure the IRS is interested in him too.

This is always a point of confusion for me when a name ends in s when denoting a singular possessive. Aren't they both correct?

you sure? It's one person, not multiple.

His names is gomes, so something belonging to him (friend) would be gomes's, right?

If you were talking about a friend of the whole entire gomes family it'd be gomes' right?

I don't know, I'm asking for clarification.

Please edit your post to capitalize Gomes's name, as it is a proper noun. Thanks.

If it's a name you can still use the 's, if it's a plural you don't. Gomes's friends. Our wives' party.

I was told that here when I corrected someone on that last year
