LINK Nice article on the Rockets start and Ariza..

That, I think, is what basketball is all about. Anyone can be born talented and arrive in the NBA brimming with potential, but if you’re not an athletic freak like a LeBron James or Anthony Davis, you need intelligence and awareness to prove you belong. Ariza has those qualities in spades, and it makes him such an incredibly easy player to root for. He may never crack the top 50 in #NBArank, but that won’t stop him from being an immensely valuable piece of an intriguing – possibly even title-contending – team. That’s enough to keep me watching.

Lebron is a pretty lazy example here. He has more basketball intelligence and awareness than just about everyone in the league.

I read this article earlier.

And LOL, you conveniently left out a little bit from the section you quoted:

The NBA is all about roles. To be a valuable player, you need to be one of the best at your specific role. The 20th best pure scorer in the league gets lots of hype, but the #1 lockdown defender/three point specialist is a more valuable player to a team who is serious about winning.

Yes I was really excited about having a very young team going into last season and looking forward to the team growing together and becoming great, but one thing that every NBA championship winning team has is experienced guys who know their role. With a team full of young guys you don't get that.

Yea he came into the league as an 18 year old and started dominating because of his baseketball IQ

And people said it was sour grapes when I said Ariza is a better fit at half the price. How's CP doing in big D?

He's had some good games, some bad ones. I haven't followed him super closely. I don't think Dallas as a team is happy with their 4-3 start but there's lots of season left they'll be the 5-6 seed imo.

ETA just went on their website and saw that Dirk is gonna pass Dream on the All time point list tonight. That sucks

Oh, that you apparently intentionally omitted a specific player. Nothing funny about that.

Yes it has tailed off a bit the last 2 games, he was at 60% after the first 5 games. I think it's sustainable too, well not 47% but maybe 42-43%

You were in a hurry so you omitted a specific player from a paragraph? Makes sense
