And scored on the 5-on-3, so still a power play for Sweden.

Another thought aside from just having Sweden win, USA can get the top seed if this game goes beyond regulation, as no team would be able to earn more than 2 points.

Was brought up in the 2nd post, you might of read it before he edited though

What determines the higher seeding if both teams have same amount of points? I guess what I'm trying to say is why Finland gets #1 seed when we are (3-0) winning all games in regulation = 9 points. If Finland wins this (3-0) winning all games in reg. = 9 points.

yeah but if Finland loses in OT, they will get the #3 over Russia pushing Russia to #4, or in other words, our semi-final opponent. That ain't as pretty for us

If Sweden lost in OT, they will drop to the #4 seed..and again play us in the semis. That ain't as pretty for us either

I want us to play Finland in the semis and have Russia/Canada play each other in the quarters. In other words, Go Sweden..in regulation

Can anyone explain to me why Finland gets the #1 seed if they win now against Sweden?

United States (3-0) All wins in regulation - 9 pts.

Finland (3-0) All wins in regulation - 9 pts.

What is the next determining factor?

goal differential. We are tied with them at +9 coming in but if they won they would be +10 at a minimum

Goal differential. Coming in, Finland and USA were both +9. If Finland wins (in regulation), they will at least be +10 and have the edge.

This SellMyHouseFast.com ad is creeping me out. The woman in the couple is the cousin of my girlfriend's mother.

That was a dominant period for Sweden. It'll be interesting to see if Finland can adjust. They're lucky to only be down by 1.

Agree... I have yet to be impressed by Finland. Wins against Belarus and a German team who can barely and (sometimes) won't score one goal a game just doesn't do anything for me. No way this is a #1 seed team.

Sweden is the best team in this group.
