Bottom line is both TCU and OSU are getting 80-85% of wagers placed and the lines are sitting pretty so...

1) Major, major plays are being made in the 15-20% group, or

2) Books are happy to take the lopsided FAV wagers

I'll stand with the big money and/or books and see what happens.

Where are you getting your 80-85% numbers? Covers, which does all the stats for the books out here shows a 56-44 split.

they are not the same team. Tcu has one of the best qbs in the country. Minnesota lost all of their offensive production. I dont see where they will be getting points from

I wouldn't use covers.

Those numbers are just dudes picking the games without any $$.

I couldn't come up with ten picks a week if given a functional crystal ball.

I squeezed out 10 this week. You can utilize the GOW, GOM and GOY plays to get a leg up on the competition.

It'll be tough.

Alright. Finally got some time to cap this weekend. I had the CPA exam last week and the new client I've been working on blocks nearly every statistical website.

I'll post some of my plays and reasoning behind them later.

Reason my "contest" suggestion was 3-8 picks a week, because most of the regulars on here that are serious about what they are doing are good for a handful of solid picks a week, not 10.

Change the structure to 10 Units instead of 10 picks with a max of 5 units per week and you will probably get more participants.

I'm more of a volume player than most, but yeah, I think being flexible with # of picks with a fixed number of units probably is more in line with what the bet thread regulars would want, compared to those posting with no money on the line.

Butttt.. back to the action. Anyone have thoughts on Texas State or ULL? Leaning both these but hoping some of the local posters with more knowledge could help me out.

I set it up this way to keep people involved throughout the year.

If someone loaded up on a few picks in btb weeks, and finished 0-8 and -22 units, the chances of them quitting are high.

A bad week in my challenge is 3-7 and -4.4 (or -5.5) units.

Last year TCU was up 24-0 at the half and won 30-7 after giving up a garbage time TD late and forcing 5 TOs. They're pretty much the same teams this year so even if TCU scores one less TD in the first half and allows one more they would be up by 10 and the line will prob be 8 or 8.5. So I'm playing TCU first half.

I think it is important to note that this was TCU's first game under their revamped offense. They have a year of the offense under their belt now.

Fair enough. I wasn't trying to criticize, I think our ideals were just a little different in what we wanted. I have no problems getting to 10 games.

You follow UNC football right?

Have you heard anything concerning that defense? Has Chizik done anything to fix the defense, especially the big play problem?

I think Marquise Williams and that offense will be a T20 offense this season. They return everyone and I don't think USCe will be able to slow them down all that much. Nothing about the USCe defense scares me. Unproven defensive line and a secondary that struggled last year (will be better this year but will have their hands full with UNC offense).

What is keeping me off UNC in this game is their defense's inability to stop the big play and with Pharoh Cooper lined up on the other side of the ball, I fear a 200+ 2 TD game from him. I saw UNC returned just about everyone in the secondary, so that should help. But I am unfamiliar with Chizik style of defense (outside the fact that he is running the 4-3).

Maybe others can shed some light on the strengths and weaknesses of Chizik defenses?

Over might be the better play.

Edit: I need to learn to look at injury reports before posting. Jerrell Adams is doubtful for Thursday game against UNC. Only helps that UNC defense.
