28 to win 2500 on Pelicans to win the Title.

Bet 200 on the other team for the series first round. (If I think Pels will lose)
If they advance bet 400 on other team. etc. etc.
Chances are if they make the playoffs it will be a first or second round exit. But if they are even better than expected you don't have to fade them until later. You get the point.
Did a similar bet with the Pirates before the NL Wildcard game. Pirates to win the NL Pennant 100 to win 700. After they beat the Reds I bet 100 on the Cards. I broke even, but I was banking on the Pirates to advance past the Cardinals.
I would do 100/9000 on the Pelicans, but my max bet is $500 so you are limited on your hedging options if they make it past first round.
