Yeah, that's an insane amount of money for him.
Brandon Roy verbally agrees to sign with the TWolves. Apparently they have not come to an agreement with Batum, though, and Portland is looking to match any offer he gets.

Nick Young to the 76ers on 1-year deal
And 76ers amnesty Elton Brand's near $20 mil contract

Sixers amnesty Brand and sign Nick Young to one year, $6 million deal. Will be interesting to see where Brand ends up, he could really help a contender.

What are the chances he gets out of the waivers process though? Some team with cap space is bound to make a bid.

He won't get to a contender. Too many teams will bid on him.

Right, I guess contender is too strong of a word. Pacers (if they don't match Hibbert), Hawks, Mavs are all playoff teams with cap space.
In terms of bad teams that might want him, Toronto is obviously making a push and don't have much at PF, Phoneix could use him too. I'd be shocked if he made it through the teams with cap space.

not so sure the current Mav's roster is a playoff team.

Probably not right now. Could get there with a few moves though IMO. Brand would be cheap and not affect their salary next year so I could see it happening.

Cuban won't go after Brand. No way

The Hornets might. They need to get to the salary floor and they need a stopgap for a year, someone to bang around a little bit downlow.

Why not? It's a one year contract. Gives the Mavs a warm body without sacrificing their cap space next season. There's already reports out that the Mavs are interested in Brand.

the heat plan on meeting with rashard lewis and marcus camby this weekend
Posted on 7/6/12 at 3:34 pm to Nonetheless
Doubtful the Heat pull either of them if they get Ray Allen. Both want more than the minimum.
That said if the Heat somehow could pull Allen and Camby that would be a perfect fill for next season.

Yeah, i agree. But I'm starting to feel as though Allen is going back to the Celtics. I don't think he will be able to stab his boys in the back -- just my gut.

Well I don't think that's an accurate portrayal. It's obvious he's torn on what to do, but some part of him wants out. I mean the team traded him last season, and then untraded him. We saw how that affected Lamar Odom. Allen obviously handled it like a pro, but everyone wants to feel wanted/needed. And between the Rondo dust up and the being traded, I think he may want a new start. I think even KG/PP would understand that.
That said, making changes is tough. It's always easier to stay where you are.

The deterioration of Ray Allen's relationship with Rajon Rondo played a significant factor in his leaving for Miami, several sources tell Y!
Apparently people shouldn't have downplayed that story.

As Y! had reported, Allen was angry w/ near-trade to Memphis at deadline. Too much acrimony to get past. Off to Miami for less money.
