I don't get this bet, don't you think the singer knows exactly how long they can or will sing it therefore easily being able to tip off any friend or family member?

Do people not know what "over/under" means?

It involves a number and then people say either "over" or "under".

What the frick does "O/U on National Anthem" even mean?

Poor Scruffy. You clearly didn't even read his post. Go back to typing in first person.

Make me.

Is this a spinoff thread or something?

I thought he was starting a bet.

Length of song. Number. Time.

Who is singing it? Depends on how many "OOWWWyooooouuuuYYYYYOOOOuuuuuooohohohuohuohuohuohEEEE"s certain singers add to the last few notes of the song.

Most bookies have a low limit on this type of prop bets. Not something you can get rich off.

Also, people at the rehearsal usually tip people off. Haven't checked what this year's was

The O/U for the National Anthem is 130 seconds last time I saw.

And Luke Bryan is singing it...

So I'm taking the under. You all can figure out the rationale behind my decision.

Barely figure out my rationale on prop bets now I have to figure out others, damn. My site has it at 127.5 seconds. I was thinking over just in case he was feeling it at the end and hung onto a long twang for the crowd cheering effect.

Yikes

Anyway, it seems to have gone over the past few years, but with a dude doing it this year I don't think he is concerned with overextending words and hitting melodies like most ladies do. So it might go under.

One thing I always wondered - do they start the clock when the music starts playing, or the first note is sung?

What people should be betting on is what level of stupidity Gaga will bring at the half time show.

NFL deserves what they get though.

When I worked in baseball one of my job functions was to audition national anthem singers. One of the requirements was they had to sing it in 2 minutes or less. Knowing who the artists is cerainly makes a difference when deciding to bet the over or under. I don't know much about this years singer but the fact he is country has me leaning to the under.

Barstool has done an in depth analysis of this for the last few years. Guy has not missed. Some conductor or something. He raises a good point about the flyover having to be timed just right. I'm taking the under.

Wonder what the O/U would be if Aretha was singing it?
