I think USC will win the turnover battle. The Trojans have the best turnover margin of any team in the country. ND has a very pedestrian offense and USC has an explosive offense that will score a lot more than ND will.

People are hypercritical of Grinch because SC gives up a lot of points and a lot of yards. The fact is he doesn’t have the depth in personnel to have a statistically “good defense”. He does some questionable stuff like dropping Tuipulotu into coverage, but he also does some brilliant stuff like dropping Korey Foreman into coverage, which put him in prime position to make the game winning INT vs ucla.

If USC is lucky enough to get into the playoffs, the defense is going to burn them at the end...They really can't stop anybody that's good.

Maybe. Stepping back from it all for a minute though, this was a 4-8 team last year. Give me this 10-1 team with a makeshift defense any day.

ND will pound it and eat up clock. Pyne just has to protect the ball and make a few throws to Mayer. Estime and Diggs getting going will be the key.

Notre Dame has only given up 5 pass Tds the last 4 weeks.
