These dudes aren't playing one on one out there. Almost all of these teams that won several championships benefited from some dumbass trade (Magic and later Worthy to the Lakers; for the Bulls Pippen was essentially acquired straight up for Jawann Oldham, who tf is Jawann Oldham?) or some degree of draft luck.
The Cavs in LeBron's first stay there got neither. No one seems to have any issue with Jordan getting ousted year after year by the Pistons before Pippen/Grant improved so why do people expect anything different from LeBron? The only year he came up short from a team perspective was 2011.

MJ wouldn't have taken the 2007 Cavs to the Finals.

So ridiculous how so many here fail to realize how good he was before he broke his back... Yes, he literally broke his back shoveling rocks for his mom back in Indiana instead of hiring a professional contractor to get the job done.
He made Boston relevant singlehandedly fast as freak. They were horrible and he was actually pretty athletic before his back injury. Just a pimp on the floor.

MJ made the Cavs his bitch. For a long time, until Lebron got tired of his "make a title" runs with the Heat.

you are trash at making logical arguments

I watched most of the Bulls games on WGN back then.
Dude had one move. One move.
A stiff robot turnaround J from the baseline.
You're taller than everyone else, move closer to the basket!
Even Ewing did that shite. It was the era of centers being way too far away until Shaq came in and said, frick this shite, I don't have a shot...I gotta dunk everything.

This is why message boards are so stupid to discuss things of this nature. Everyone knows the drill.
Stats aren't the only thing that matter. Wins and championships aren't the only thing that matter. Intangibles are the only thing that matter. But everyone tries to skew the argument to try and show that someone is basing their whole premise on just one of those.
Put it like this
Jordan has the most or best of everything that is measurable or deemed important when compared to Lebron.-save the all imporatant apg or rpg. After that I don't see where it is even a discussion. If Lebron wins 3 or 4 in a row and he is the best player on those teams then I will be on his side. But he has to earn these lofty rankings. Not just have ESPN give them to him.

He made the Cavs his bitch in the early 90s. That had absolutely nothing to do with LeBron.

Jabbar had all the hype, all the expectations and lived up to them. Two franchises to the championship.
You can replace "Jabbar" with LeBron in these sentences.
quote:
All time leader in points, unstoppable shot
All Time Leader in Points Rebuttal and Unstoppable Shot Rebuttal
quote:
Russel was probably the closest to Jordan in terms of desire, hunger, killer mentality. No his numbers aren't what makes him great. It is all the things that numbers can't measure. Leadership, will to win, foundation of a defense. All at a time when his color worked against him. I mean he coached and played at the same time and won championships.
You can make the same convoluted, arbitrary, "intangibles" argument for LeBron's legacy. He has lived up to, and in many ways surpassed, the monumental expectations heaped upon him since age 17. He has kept himself, and his image, almost completely clean and untarnished in the age of social media, where his nearly every move is carefully taped, broadcast to the world instantly, and then scrutinized in excruciating detail. He has used his image and his celebrity to contribute millions and millions of dollars to countless charities and causes. LeBron has been the leader of every single team he has been on, including multiple national gold medal-winning olympic teams. While Spoelstra was a good coach, it's been pretty clear than LeBron was/is basically playing the role of GM/Coach/Player on both of his Cavs stints. Whatever you mean by "foundation of a defense," LeBron is effing GREAT at defense- 5 time all defensive team, 1 time second team. He's also effing great at being a teammate. He brought CLEVELAND their first sports championship in 52 years. CLEVELAND. And how did he pull that off, you might ask? Oh, he only came back from down 3-1 to beat the GREATEST REGULAR SEASON TEAM OF ALL-TIME.
Your dumb arguments for both Jabbar and RUSSELL (Really dude? You can't even spell his name) are easily refutable.
Also, how old are you? I'm willing to bet middle-aged.
I'll get to your Jordan argument in another post.

quote:There is no doubt that MJ played better in the Finals, which gives him the nod. Conversely LeBron played better than Kobe did in the Finals so it's not about the total championships.
But he's no MJ.
That being said, those finals aside, MJ and LeBron are extremely close across the board. So MJ > LeBron, but the difference isn't significant.

Lebron is closer to MJ than whoever the 3rd best player is to Lebron.
MJ and Lebron are in a tier by themselves.

Intangibles are the only thing that matter.

Lebron is no better than 7th if all time unless it is all time hype.

Do you think MJ was only the best player in the NBA 6 times in his career?
Or do you think that sometime the best player in the NBA doesn't win a title in a given season?

At 22 years old, no less. Jordan had yet to make it out of the first round of the playoffs when he was still 22.

No Lebron doesn't get on Jordan's tier. He has done nothing to get him on that level. He has done everything to get hisself on top 5 tier but on Jordan's level. No and withstanding a multitude of championships and record setting individual performances it isn't going to happen. No matter how much some people want it or believe it
