The drought contiues in what i consider to be an absolutely ridiculous statistic. John Cooper never won it, Jim Tressel never won it...even the year Ohio State went 14-0 and won the national championship, and now Urban Meyer cant win it either. What else do they want from an Ohio State coach? Ohio State gets punished for having high standards and thats just plain wrong. Urban Meyer's situation has been much different. In Urban Meyer's first season, he takes over a program that finished 6-7 the year before and leads that team to a 12-0 perfect season...no COY award. This year, Meyer loses his starting QB in Braxton Miller, what does he do, regroups the program and leads Ohio State to another perfect B1G season. He has never lost a B1G regular season game and yet he hasnt won COY?? This is beyond conspiracy!

Jerry Kill???? LOL

What does that have to do with him not winning the award? He has beaten every single B1G school he has played in the B1G regular season. What has Jerry Kill done to win it....go 8-4???

You should take it as a compliment to the program, those awards are all about big turnarounds. OSU is always highly regarded in the preseason and expected to win a ton of games.

U buck turds complaining about this stupid award is useless. The comment above me sums things up for the mind set our fans should have. Get over it.

And that sometimes pisses me off. Just because a coach took a bad program and made it good doesn't mean what he did was any tougher than what a coach at a successful program did in a season where he maintained that success.

And thats exactly what Urban Meyer did. Urban Meyer took over a program that was coming off the saga of Jim Tressel being fired, a 6-7 season with scholarship reductions and a bowl ban. Urban Meyer came in here and in his first year went 12-0....from 6-7 to 12-0. Thats impressive. Any other coach in any other conference would have won COY hands down. I can understand not winning it every year, especially when that year comes with great expectations, but Urban Meyer should have won it in 12'. Not once in 35 years...come on!

So if Florida's next coach comes in and leads Florida to an undefeated season next year, you wouldnt think its a joke if your coach didnt win COY? Give me a break!

He would have won it if not for Bill O'Brien, everyone saw that coming.

Anybody that knows anything about football knew that Penn St was going to be decent that year. Bill O'Brien got waaaaay to much credit for that first season at PSU. They had like 18 starters back that year. At the very least it should have been a Co-COY.
