Is that really a good thing if admission requirements remain as low as they are?

Our standards really aren't that low.

A 2.5 high school GPA guarantees your admission to ULL. That's not much of a challenge.

FWIW, I think LSU's admission requirements are too low as well.

My apologies. The name change argument is driving me crazy.

And my love for the basketball team makes me irrational.

Sorry man.

Yeah, but I can think of some other La schools with much lower standards than that.

No worries. I didn't phrase that post very well. If I still lived in Laffy I'd be at every game.

Hey man, relax. I love Cajuns basketball and go as often as possible and I would love to have the people on the fence come back to the games. During the win streak in Marlin's first year, we had a couple of games where attendance was crazy good and that was a buttload of fun. Hope people show up for the ESPN televised game.

I'd be ecstatic if they could get 5-6K.

Hendo, were the Jerry Baldwin years before or during your time?

You're right, but that's not saying much.

LSU's new president is pushing for more out of state students. Quite a bit more, actually. If that campaign is successful, it will leave less room in entering classes for the "pretty good" Louisiana students, as I don't think LSU wants its enrollment to be much higher than 30,000.

Those "pretty good" students are the ones I believe ULL will be able to go after with better results in the next few years. But this is purely speculation on my part, obviously.

Lee's first year when he inherited OG, Dwayne, Tiras, Cameron and B-Ham.

That team was so fun to watch. You were guaranteed to see at least 2 Alley oops a night.

For me, those years were after my time.

I know LSU fans hate talking about the Hallman era, but the Baldwin years made the Hallman era look like Spurrier's tenure at Florida.

It was awful.

God, you're arrogant

I see why Cajun fans don't like some LSU fans.

And Michael Southall would have been on that team if not for the ganja.

We were fricking stacked.

The North Alabama (D2) loss was probably the low point in the program's history.

Before my time at the school but I certainly remember them. Like a painful rape memory.

You just had to bring that up

Lets not forget some key losses during Baldwin's time:

Northwestern state
Sam Houston State
Jacksonville State

OT Win vs Wofford
