also why does CBS get an additional 5 minutes

It was sort of sarcasm, but I do think CBS halftimes take longer because of all of the commercials they run. It seems like CBS halftimes take 25-30 minutes to me.

I love college football and not into the nfl like I was as a kid. I will watch the 49ers, saints, and most nfc games. I hate watching afc games because they are mostly boring games.

Huh? It's not like the AL and NL in baseball.

Damn, if that's what you think of the NFL, I can't imagine how hot your take on CFB is.

Love college. Totally different game.

More mistakes and odd plays which create unexpected.
Pass interference does not determine outcome of huge pct of games
Bit longer but more passion

More plays in college better. Nfl games have hardly any plays. Like 8 or 9 minutes of actual action (studies have been done. Don't remember exact number but it is small).

Penalties still bad in college but better than nfl.

More people are tuning into the NFL every year, viewers are just finding different ways of watching.

While the MNF match-ups don't help, I think the fault lies more with ESPN. Monday Night Football is a terrible production. Everything from the graphics to the (especially) halftime show and Chris Berman. I've never understood why they can't mimic NBC or even their own College Football production.

They debuted a team in the 2nd largest media market in the hemisphere that hasn't had football and in 20 yrs....you'd think people would watch.

I'm supposed to be interested in watching a bottom of the barrel NFL team because they moved to another city?

I'm blaming all this on their Commercials-Kickoff-Commercials model

NFL is popular because of fantasy football. Most don't even watch the games, they're too worried about players from each team helping them win. Just watch redzone or keep track on twitter, ESPN.com, etc to see scores and stats.

I can't even get into this game that's playing right now. But the Houston vs Cincy game is interesting, loud, seems better. Guess I'm hoping for the upset.

Don't think any NFL games this week can compare to the BIG college games this weekend.

To sum up, CBS, Sunday Night Football, and Thursday Night Kickoff all hit 7yr lows. And ESPN MNF fell by 32% combined. Only FOX did better than the previous yr, thanks to the Cowboys vs Giants.
People don't want to see 7 on 7 flag football.

Shocker
