Listen I agree with your post for the most part as primarily an NFL fan but I really got a kick out of this

I enjoy the NBA so much more than the NFL now...which I never thought possible. Alabama footbal, then the NBA and PGA are a close second.

Nowadays I watch the NFL like I would watch some random street musician. It's there, so I guess I'll look at it while I sit and eat. I really can't explain it...it just doesn't do anything for me.

I watch the Bucs. I enjoy watching the Pats. And at night before I go to bed I enjoy having a game on in the background while I fall asleep. And even then, if an Alabama player isn't a big part of the team, I probably won't pay much attention at all.

What's weird is my lack of interest in the NFL hasn't been a conscious decision. It just...happened.

Interesting thread, couple of thoughts, you boys are in the south were NFL football takes a back seat to college simply because you don’t have the product. I live 2.5hrs from Indy, 50min from Cincy, 3.5 from Cleveland, 3 hrs from Detroit and 5 hrs from Pittsburg, so needless so say in OHIO NFL football rules because there is just so much of it so I get why you southerns don’t care for it…you don’t have any teams

Where do you think Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, Carolina, Tampa, Jacksonville, Miami, Atlanta, Nashville, and Charlotte are located?

Two of the divisions are called the South.

When I close my eyes and think about the NFL or when I'm dreaming about the NFL, all I see is either a stoppage in play because of a penalty or a commercial break.

I've gotten to where I just can't handle the amount of bullshite pass interferences that are called every game. It's gotten to where you might as well stay in zone because if you're playing man and they chuck the ball deep the defender is going to get flagged every time even though both players are fighting for the ball. All the penalties has made this the pussiest pro sport in the world

Whoever said "more offensive scores" and "easier time on offense" will attract more people needs to reevaluate.

Nobody wants to watch a defense ball out in great coverage get dismantled by a ref throwing a flag 2-3 seconds after a 4th down play ends to bail out an offense. And then have it happen AGAIN

Did you know Pittsburgh is the only on with the "h"? All the other similar towns throughout the country are Pittsburg.

Sure, but it isn't like Pittsburgh, PA is some tiny backwoods town. I see Pittsburgh misspelled more than spelled correctly here. I've just always been a little surprised by it.

Dallas and Houston are not considered the south IMO THE SEC is considered the SOUTH.see civil war and Texas wasn't in it, and lets see....most of those teams are expansion teams at least to me, the saints, tampa, car, , jack, TN, etc, and for the record, the is a LA forum none of the teams are even close to LA......so it's not the same and the dolphins, please I am as close to Miami, FL as you are. The teams I listed are original teams minus the colts 1983 and cincy 1968.

Pro football was invented in Ohio, Canton and Dayton OHIO had the first two teams so yeah pro football is awesome here.

As for Pittsburgh, I work with Pittsburg Kansas businesses and spell that all the time for work so it is a habit.

see civil war and Texas wasn't in it,

The U.S. state of Texas declared its secession from the United States of America on February 2, 1861, and joined the Confederate States on March 2, 1861, after it replaced its governor, Sam Houston, when he refused to take an oath of allegiance to the Confederacy.

Where is New Orleans? How far is Houston? Is Seattle closer to San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Arizona, etc.? Not every city in the US is located within four hours of each other.

And the Browns

ETA:
Your line of thinking that the SEC is the South but Texas isn't in the South because it wasn't part of the Confederacy in the Civil War (which I've already shown is incorrect) contradicts itself. Read the following:

quote:

By the end of the Civil War Missouri had supplied nearly 110,000 troops to the Union and at least 30,000 troops for the Confederate Army and additional bands of pro–Confederate guerrillas

So you would consider Missouri part of the South but not Texas? A lot of people don't consider Texas part of the South and almost consider it as its own region, but your reasoning doesn't make any sense.

Texas was not part on the confederation, Texas, MO, NE, Iowa, OK are plane states, Northeast is self explanatory, the midwest is WI, MI, IL, IN, OH, come on you guys will argue about anything.

Yes Houston is 250mi from LA so what about it, There is just no where near the same amount of pro football for the long haul of the league in the south compared to the midwest, there is no arguing that end of story, so it makes sense why college is more appealing than the pros because pro football in the south is relatively new compared to the rest of the country and the teams are awful on top of that.

WTF? Were you home schooled in a trailer that you've never left?

Texas wasn't in the Confederacy and has more in common w/Iowa than the Southern states?

Are you for real?

Living in Kentucky, I'm stuck in the Ohio Valley of Suck when it comes to what is broadcasted here for the NFL: The Brown, the Bengals, the Colts, and the occasional Packer/Cowboys/Steelers matchup. With the rare appearance of a Falcons or Saints game.

This is what keeps me from regularly watching regularly broadcasted NFL teams in my area. Your OHIO football sucks.
