I am sort of hoping Minnesota gets it and we are hit by a blizzard with at least a foot of snow and air temperatures below zero.

Now that would be kind of cool.

True. But with San Jacinto being near Houston, it makes more sense for them to get it.

Same thing happened with Super Bowl XVI in '82 (blizzard dumped a ton of snow on Detroit and half the U.S.)

The 300th anniversary is going to be boss around here...
I've wttended 3 Super Bowls in Nola. And love it. Have no other city to compare it to, so I can't as how much better it is.

Thing is I may not live in the city come 2018 if things go as they possibly will. Hopefully. But I will make the trip back for sure

I wonder how many other major events New Orleans is trying for that year (Final Four, College NCG, NBA All-Star Game)?

There can never be another 300th anniversary, go for it all!

The new airport is supposed to be ready in that year, but I'm betting not till the end.
Also, I think Navy Fleet Week is expected to come back with the airshow and all of that stuff.

We would, except we didn't put in a bid

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has named New Orleans as a finalist in the bid process to host the NCAA men's Final Four for the years 2017, 2019 or 2020, and the NCAA women's Final Four for the years 2017-2020.

We're all in for the Super Bowl in 2018

If Miami would have had the foresight to build a football stadium near South Beach, it would rival NOLA for best SB venue.

Went to BCS in 2012. South beach was a lot of fun. Perfect setup. Until the day of the game when we had to taxi an hour away for the game.

We're making a hard push for the NBA All-Star game as well. I'd be surprised if we weren't the favorite for that too.
