Because of their nickname.

This is getting out of control.

This is getting absurd. What did he think for the past 15 years of reffing their games? Why now? Because its the cool thing to do

Mike never seemed to have a problem before in the 15+ years he's officiate NFL games. It's ridiculous how many people are absolutely afraid of being labeled a "racist" or "bigot" or, etc. etc. simply because they disagree with someone eles' POV or (as in the case of most people re: the Redskins issue) just don't give a shite about the issue at all. Alas, that's what this country is coming to..."Agree with our position. If you don't we will vilify you to the fullest extent possible."

I may not completely agree with Mike Ditka on his thoughts on the situation, but good for him for having the fricking backbone to stand behind what he thinks.

You can shoot the messenger but it won't change the outcome; Augusta finally allowed women and minorities as members despite their assertions that it would never, ever happen.

The world changes for both the good and bad despite our objections. The Redskins name will end because native Americans find it offensive; the fact that you and Mike Ditka don't doesn't really matter.

I see both sides, but I also know that the dinosaurs died off because they couldn't adapt.

It seems that if a DC player wanted to get out of contract,it wouldn't take much to sue for Free Agency- hostile workplace, etc.

I think Danny Boy would change his mind pretty quickly after that.

Now there is precedent that an NFL Employee didn't want to work in this environment and the league accommodated him.

If I was Kirk Cousins, I'd say the same thing NOW.

No player in his prime would sue because he'd never be hired in the NFL again; but I can see a lazy Albert Haynesworth type, undergoing a DNA test which proves he is 1/100th Native American, then suing for a hostile work environment and winning.

You really think Jerry Jones would care if a player sued Dan Snyder? If he could help the Cowboys win?

it just drives me nuts trying to understand a league where the black players want to be able to say "n*****" and the attempt to nix that was met with accusations of racist devils...but refs can't say "frick" to the players because that's just uncalled for

then they have a black ref who refused to ref a game because he found "redskins" to be offensive despite hearing "n*****" 500 million times a game and not saying one fricking word.

jesus christ

Were Doc Rivers and the Clippers worried about getting another job when they said they wouldn't play / coach for Sterling?
