Blockbuster!

First reaction: I actually think that both Miami and Philly will benefit

So Miami is paying a king's ransom for Maxwell, moving back in the first round, and giving up a 4th round pick for Kiko? Sounds legit.

Miami is thinking they will find somebody awesome with that first round pick, and also that Kiko will stay healthy and get back to his pre-2015 form.

Miller would thrive in Dallas.

Perfect spot for him.

Miami is moving back in the 1st round, so yeah.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Dolphins' deal with free agent Mario Williams should be finalized on Tuesday, and will be worth $8 million per season.
The offseason is the Dolphins' postseason. Their March dynasty is approaching Belichick-esque levels. Now 31, Williams was widely accused of quitting last season before being released by the Bills last week. Williams is one of the best pass rushers of his generation, and is well worth a flier, but it will be a risky deal for the perennially cap-strapped 'Fins. His addition will almost certainly mean the release of Cam Wake.

There is no legit source out there reporting that the Dolphins are swapping 1sts with Philly and also sending a 4th. I will break shite if that's true.

I'm thinking/hoping it'll be a mid-to-late round pick like I'm seeing elsewhere.

9 News Denver's Mike Klis reports the Jaguars are "finalizing" a deal with free agent DL Malik Jackson which will make him the fourth highest-paid defensive lineman in the league. ESPN's Josina Anderson confirmed the report with Jackson. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the deal is expected to be around $15 million per season, which would put Jackson between Rams DE Robert Quinn's $14.2 million and Bills DT Marcell Dareus' $15.85 million annual average. It's believed to be for six years. With easily the most money to throw around, the Jaguars are getting the premier prize available on the market.
I figured it was only a matter of time, Denver only offered roughly 10 million per year and everyone knew he would be paid handsomely. Jacksonville is getting a damned good player. As big as a defensive tackle, as quick as a defensive end. If he could get his penalties under control, he would be unstoppable.

I expect Danny Trevathan to sign with the Chicago Bears.

Both big losses...

It was 5 years/90 mil with 42 guaranteed for Jackson btw

And for the Texan/hard knock fans...

quote:

Titans agreed to terms with C Ben Jones, formerly of the Texans, on a four-year contract. Jones started his career as a guard, but made the switch to center last season, playing 1,274 snaps through knee and back issues. The Titans are making it a point to upgrade their offensive line, and Jones will replace Brian Schwenke at the pivot after Schwenke has yet been able to finish a 16-game season thanks to injuries and ineffectiveness. Jones was a league-average starter at best in Houston, finishing 2015 as PFF's No. 22 center out of 40.

Speculation I've read is that the Dolphins will instead rescind the transition offer on Vernon.

quote:

FOX Sports' Alex Marvez is "getting strong vibes" the Dolphins will rescind Olivier Vernon's transition tag.

The Dolphins handed out a two-year, $16 million deal to Mario Williams on Tuesday, and supposedly want to retain Cameron Wake. There isn't room for all three players in Miami, while the Dolphins have appeared tepid on Vernon all offseason. Whether they rescind the tag or not, Vernon seems destined to sign an offer the Dolphins won't match. Source: Alex Marvez on Twitter Mar 8 - 6:31 PM

Brock Osweiler to sign with Texans or Broncos
Houston can pay more, obviously, but Denver has more to offer otherwise.

Familiarity with the system, more playmakers, great defense, better team overall...

I think I'd rather throw to Hopkins for next couple years than De-dropyious Thomas

And at the same time if I'm the Broncos id rather go after a Vet/rookie combo next year over paying Osweiler a crazy amount of money. I wasn't that impressed by him
