maybe there's a legal liability reason they don't wan to interfere with an investigation.

they're negotiating now to get an instant one game suspension for DUI arrest, regardless of whether or not you are guilty.

I guess players shouldn't put themselves in that situation though, get a driver.

You know what, the league didn't punch Ray Rice's fiancee. They had to make a decision possibly without all of the facts, and with the fiance pleading for Rice's livelihood. I hope this doesn't turn into an assault on the league and lose focus on who the perpetrator and victim are. ESPN is already injecting a lot of editorial on this from the people who should only be reporting the facts.

yea i dont see why they would lie. i think it would be pretty easy for someone to prove whether they saw the video or not.

And after hearing Goodell say in retrospect that he messed up the suspension, you'd have to think that had he saw the video, he would have had a much longer suspension.

like anything else, the only reason he apologized for his "error" is because he got heat for how bad it was....

There is one other thing I did not write or refer to, and that is the other videotape the NFL and some Ravens officials have seen, from the security camera inside the elevator at the time of the physical altercation between Rice and his fiancée.

hmm, so was Peter King wrong, or did the NFL lie

The NFL interviewed the woman with Ray Rice in the room

PK already backtracked on that statement in his article today, now he's saying "if the NFL saw the tape".

Goodell just fed him the story that they had seen the tape and he ate it up like a good lap dog.

bullshite, they could have gotten that video if they wanted it, and we still wont know if they did see it or not.

Well she was put in a tough spot since they interviewed her with him in the room.

So that would man Goodell lied.

It wasn't just reported by Peter King either. From July

quote:

We saw the TMZ video of what happened outside—when he was dragging her out unconscious—but inside, I'm told from those who have seen the video, it wasn't pretty. In fact, she attacks him—we don't know the reason why—and he strikes her, strikes her hard. And her head—according to the sources I've spoken to—struck the rail inside the elevator and she was unconscious.

The NFL was reported to have the same evidence as the police.

This may actually allow Goodell to make right and increase the suspension. I don't know the CBA, but sometimes they can amend punishments when new information comes out. Also, there may be a clause about lying to investigators. Who knows, but you can bet your arse Goodell is trying to find a way to increase the suspension to save face.

As of now, Goodell looks like an incompetent clown.

I am more interested to see what happens to Rice once he steps foot on the field. I hope if he's not suspended for longer (likely what will happen) that several other players will go after him on the field.

my thing is, was this an unauthorized leak by someone? if i'm ray rice and i lose out on my contract and future earning potential bc someone stole the video which they should have not had access to, i would sue TMZ and file a subpoena against them to reveal where it came from

Probably a freedom of information act request. This isn't soviet Russia and that video isn't private.

Foxy Mulder

What many people do not know, is the NFL, via the teams do have free car service for players if they need it.

They can get as drunk as they want, and call for a car service via the league/team.
