Years ago they played this game. Maybe not against the champion, but against a lower level NFL team, this could be a fun matchup. I know I'd love to watch it!

It would also be a great way for NFL guys to get a look at and judge the guys coming in before they are drafted.

1) It would never happen BEFORE the draft.
2) What's the incentive for the NFL team? Answer:NOTHING.

So a thread about bringing back a game they used to play along with stating legitimate reasons why it would be good, is now a "random thought"?

Nice try

Not disagreeing with you there. Maybe pride? Make the worst team play the game.

Why not? You might see an injury or two, but in all, you would get a MUCH better idea of how good these guys would be against other NFL players.

Even the worst team in the league? Against ALL the best college players? I'm not completely sold on that...

I know it's a different time, but back in the day, the college all stars gave the NFL CHAMPIONS a run for their money.

"back in the day" didnt have the athletes you do in the NFL today.

Its a differet breed and you want to put the best NFL players against the best college players? Come on man

There's many reasons they ended this back in the 70's.

#1 being empty seats in the stands.

So guys who are drafted high and expected to come in and immediately contribute/play well 6 months later, somehow would be helpless and only get hurt in that game?? Not sound logic.

Guys like Dez Bryant and Claiborne who start their first year and play WELL, somehow would be worthless to stop the worst receiving core or DB's in the league?? Stop embarrassing yourself.

Having a different opinion of how the best college players would play versus some of the WORST NFL players doesn't qualify as this as a "retarded thread".

The NFL team would destroy the college team.

The skill positions might be able to go toe for toe, but the NFL lines would just slaughter their college counterparts.
