Pats have lost 3 games by a total of 4 points. Seattle and Baltimore might be the two best home field advantages in the NFL. Not as bad as the record and playing an injury plagued Jets team with QB issues that Brady usually owns and they're at home. I guess we'll see though. If they get the offense rolling, NY doesn't have the firepower to keep up.

I don't like taking over/unders. Been burned too many times. I do point spreads only, usually with a 3-4 team parlay, more if I'm feeling brave. How does that make me a noob?

3-4 team parlays. You're trolling me right?

Why can't he take the safety? I had them at -7, prob shouldn't complain though as I had the under thanks to Chem E and the Ducks -7 so overall still a good night.

Eh whatever. I only do point spreads and yes I do parlays. Win some and lose some. Not gonna change that because an LSU fan is calling me a troll

Harbaugh can go eat a big bag of San Francisco cocks!

I pushed, but still.

I was being sarcastic, I'm not calling you a troll. Bottom line is parlays are negative EV and totals are softer than spreads due to bet volume. If you want to make some money we'll try to help out, it's a good group of guys around here. If you're ok losing money and having fun then parlays are definitely an exciting form of betting.

If my comment came across a little douchy I apologize, I'm a natural prick after a drink or two. Most of the guys in these threads are used to it by now...

I do know my football though.

Nice, I'm glad I paid the extra 10 cents for the -7.

Me too! I would have been PISSED if I would have got hung out to dry on a -7.5 line.

I like the Wash line a lot. Looking at the over in that one too. Probably won't post anything certain until Sunday morning...

Maybe you can clear something up for me. Why is it that all I hear about is "Sharps/Wiseguys/Good Bettors don't play teams, they play numbers", yet I see these same sharps/wiseguys taking numbers like +6.5 (instead of -6.5)?

I've also seen +5.5 taken instead of -5.5, etc... If they are playing numbers and not teams, why wouldn't they be on the other side of those numbers?

It depends. Playing 7 vs 7.5 was huge for SF bettors last night but there are also cases like NYG -6.5 this weekend where it's obvious books are begging for NYG money.

The way I look at it is get the best number you can for a bet you've already decided is a good one... Not the other way around, i.e. just betting a game because you get +3.5 or something like that.

Posted this in the NCAA betting thread:

quote:

Philly Godfather picks:

NCAA USF +6 or +6.5. Says the public should push this number to +7 by Saturday, so maybe wait to see if you can get a better line. Says public hates USF and will load up on Louisville. South Carolina +3.5, maybe wait to see if it goes to +4. Marbles looking to bet Florida. Lattimore practiced Thursday, PG says he will play.

NFL Redskins +6, wait to see if you can get +7. Marbles are all over Giants.

My spreadsheet tomorrow:

New Orleans
Green Bay
New England
Oakland

NBS:
2U Plays
HOUSTON
1U Plays
ST LOUIS
TENNESSEE
NY GIANTS
ARIZONA
TAMPA BAY
DALLAS
NEW ENGLAND
DETROIT

Oakland is a 5:1 ratio, but recommended as a NO PLAY due to both having extremely shitty defenses.
