Because teams want us to eat an equally heavy, but worse contract.

Asik is a limited player, but he's not completely inept. He's 2-3mil overpaid, if he was closer to 7mil he'd be a good deal.

No NBA player has ever matched Noel’s per game steal (1.8) and block (1.7) averages through his rookie and sophomore year and he has the second-highest career defensive box plus-minus trailing only David Robinson.

Oh, and he has now developed a reliable mid range jumper. He is vastly underrated.

He's also only 22. 20 years ago, he'd be a rookie now instead of trying to figure out his game on a pro contract. He's still a raw prospect and should be treated as such.

If the Mavs miss the playoffs, the Sixers get the Mavs 2nd round pick next year. So, really, the Mavs traded one young prospect languishing on their bench for a better prospect at a position of need. This is a great deal for the Mavs.

It turns in to 2 2nd round picks if the pick is inside the top 18. What an awful deal.

Great trade for the Mavs. I like it, particularly because the pick is so protected.

I'll always wonder what Noel would've done in NO w/ Davis had they not traded him on draft night
