Sweet. Thanks a lot man, it was killing me cause I knew who it was but it wouldn't come to me. Don't really need it authenticated , not trying to sell it. Just wanted to display it but couldn't member who it was. Knew it was someone good since I put it in a cube.

You collect? Coolest piece?

Yeah, I collect off and on. I collected trading cards as a kid, and until recently, still did. I mostly collect Cardinals stuff. I used to live not too far from KC, so I have some Royals signed baseballs (White is my favorite) and a dual signed Chiefs mini helmet by Dawson and Bell still stashed away at my parents place somewhere. I have some rare Cardinals rookies and autographs that I treasure the most.

I can't really take the credit since I didn't know who it was. Some veteran collectors said it was him. I need to add his autograph someday.

Is this what is signed on the ball? There is certainly some creative license at work there if so.

No clue how he got that signature out of those letters but it's him. I did the same, posted it on a sports memorabilia site I frequent and they nailed it right away. Some guys have strange signatures, you ever see Greg madddux's? He's gotta be the worst signature ever.

Yeah, Maddux autograph is bad. The place I go to often rips on someone when they put little effort into their signature.

I was coming here too post. Been going through my collection and i ran across the Pudge Rodriguez ball. I was thinking it was Juan Gonzalez initially so I busted out my collection. My dad was in the front office for the Shreveport Captains. AA affiliate of the Giants for years. He managed to obtain many incredible autographs through the years. Especially Giants players. My personal favorite is either Willie Mays or Mickey Mantle. I was able to go to spring training a few times in the 90s and also attend the first interleague game between SF and the Rangers in 97'. At that game alone, I was able to get another Willie Mays and Will Clark. Nolan Ryan, Pudge, Juan Gonzales and others. Unfortunately I was never able to obtain a Barry Bonds or Jeff Kent during my visits any time the Giants played in Arlington because they were both complete jerks. I once saw a young kid approach Bonds at the entrance to their hotel get a hand shoved in his face while Bonds didn't even acknowledge him and kept on walking. Same type deal with Kent. The Giants ballboy had a few doozies to tell me about tose two. Bonds is still my all time favorite player though lol

Neat story. I remember interleague play was big back then. Yeah, Bonds and Kent were always tough autographs to get. What stories did the batboy tell you? I went to high school with someone that played baseball at Missouri, and was drafted by the Giants in the 4th round in 2004. I can't remember if he played at Shreveport or not. He made it as high as Fresno (AAA affiliate). He's a lawyer in the STL now.
