I just think the gap between the ACC and every other conference is enormous. Even over the Pac 12, who has three good teams at the top.
I agree. Out of the ACC, Pac 12, and Big 12, I feel that the Big 12 is by far the weakest. A lot of mediocre teams. It's a shame that KU wins the conference every year as well. The two Iowa St teams gave them a run for it and Baylor just can't beat them. But I will say that KU, Baylor, and WVU are a very solid top 3. Man March is going to be so fun. It really is wide open. I really hate the "College Basketball sucks" crowd bc going into the final weeks of the regular season is a blast, then it's full speed ahead once Conf Tourneys start.

The committee had them as a 4 seed in the initial release, right?
I'm not sure. I just assumed smaller name from smaller conference would get a lower seed. They're a damn good team though.

My Final Four is Duke, North Carolina, Florida State, and Villanova.
If I went outside of those four, the first two teams I would go to are Arizona and Kansas.

I don't think the quality of play is as good as it was in years past, but the excitement coming down the stretch of the season is still awesome. One of my favorite parts of college basketball season when I was younger was always the west coast games that would start at midnight. Now I can't stay up like that on weekdays
Also, I miss Bracketbusters weekend. That was always awesome.

doubtful. They've finally clicked on offense but I'm not sold at all on their defense.

There isn't any one dominant team this year. I could see a 5-6 seed getting in.
I highly doubt there will be three teams from one conference in the Final Four (only has happened once to my knowledge, 1985 Big East) but holy shite a Duke/UNC Final Four game would be amazing.
I think someone like Cincinnati could get there.
Spinoff: Has there ever been a more devastating injury to a college basketball team than Kenyon Martin breaking his leg? Cincinnati was way, way better than anyone else that year.

No way.
The main thing they lack is depth. Tatum is getting better every single game. He's so dynamic. He can obviously score, but he can rebound, defend, pass, etc. He does it all. And he's gaining confidence every game.
They have outside shooting, and they really, really know how to move the ball offensively. They skip pass extremely well. They have a lot of penetrators. They are just really good offensively. And they're getting better and playing well at the right time.
Defensively is a question mark. A team with big, physical dudes down low could give them trouble. But how many teams are there like that? North Carolina maybe? They can kill teams with their offensive rebounding. Duke has already beaten them, though. Kansas is guard oriented. UCLA is guard oriented. Oregon has incredible balance, but 3 of their 4 best players are probably guards. Villanova is mostly perimeter oriented.
Now, all of these perimeter teams I mentioned will certainly give Duke a lot of trouble off the dribble. But I think Duke can score with these teams. I think they can out-offense a lot of teams.
I love this Duke team and where they're headed. I think they're poised to make a deep run.

The one and done rule has really hurt it I'll agree, but I will say that there are way more really good freshman this year around the country than last year so that helps a lot.

That was awesome But with watch ESPN and so many other outlets showcasing games, the good mid majors are always on national tv now.

It was different though because you'd get good mid major teams from different conferences playing against each other, like Kent State vs St Mary's or Drake vs Southern Illinois. That was always really cool to me to give teams like that a showcase weekend.

I really do think Duke is finally putting it all together. Tonight's game was weird. They should have ran away with that game in the first half, but kept turning it over on the fast break. I agree the defense can be shaky at times (gave up like 53 in the second half tonight). 2 of their losses have come on buzzer beaters (vs. KU) and Cuse was desperate tonight. Gillon can fill it up too.

Those 3 are the definition of early round disappointment. The Big XII gets exposed when March roles around. Not that other conferences don't either, but they just seem to have bigger seeds go down earlier more than others.

Agree with you about Duke. This team was super frustrating to watch two months ago. Health was an obvious reason, but they just looked like they lacked leadership. I like Amile, but he seems more like a lead by example guy. No one wanted to take control of this team offensively either. Kennard was that guy and has been fantastic but he can be limited. Tatum finally did it, and he looks every bit the part now. K has cut him loose. The offense as a whole is very good, but that last possession they had tonight has appeared in spurts this year.
They have depth, the guys haven't panned out. Sucks Giles wont ever be 100% but he's given them good minutes lately. Bolden and Jeter are just non factors at this point. I despise Jeter.
All of this CBB talk has me fired up. We are close fellas!

The only conference I'm not sure about is the B1G. I literally haven't watched a single B1G game except Duke-MSU, and MSU is down unfortunately. I usually have Izzo going deep like everyone else does
Purdue and Wiscy are the two best teams, but I don't really know how good they are.

I'm in Big XII country, so it resonates more. The KU fans won their National Championship tonight. It's all down hill from here for them.
The team that deserves the most respect in the Midwest/Kansas is the team that get's the least. I will let you all guess who that is.

Oh I fully expect a second round exit at the hands of a Monmouth, Vermont, or Dayton

I'm not too sure how good Purdue is, but Caleb Swanigan is a monster. That's a guy who can change games in a lot of ways and he could put them on his back and carry them to a deep run. Or they could flame out in the first round and lose to someone shitty like UALR again.
Wisconsin is Wisconsin. Not great athletically, good shooters, execute well and play tough defense. They don't have the Frank Kaminsky or Sam Dekker type of guys who make a good team into a Final Four team though.

Despite their two recent losses, I still think Maryland is a team built to go deep in the tournament. Florida is the most likely Final Four team from the SEC.

Definitely don't hate it.
I think the AAC is weak top to bottom, but at the same time there's teams like Houston, Memphis, and UConn that aren't really easy outs right now.
I could see some random team besides SMU or Cincy wining the conference tournament and then winning a game or two in the NCAA Tournament.
The conference tournament is in Connecticut. That might give you a hint as to who I think that team is.

I see Wisconsin still has Hayes and Koenig. So they'll have some experience going in.
