The NCAA literally has NO CLUE how to enforce their own rules.

This is a flag LINK

this isn't LINK

this is a suspension LINK

they are all the same play

I really think it would help. Teach the "head first hard hitting" frickers that they'll be sent off and suspended a game for that shite.

Or just show them a rugby tournament so they can learn how to actually wrap up and tackle.

Where do they draw the line though.

With instant replay. Get rid of these itchy trigger finger refs throwing a flag because something looked like something it wasnt.

The vast majority of these flags aren't in "tackle situations". They are hit situations there is a big difference.

Just move on to flag football and end it. Pathetic.

Within the next 10 years NFL players will be playing flag football in pink panties (for breast cancer awareness) and a tank top team jersey.

They should just start to break out the Yellow and Red Cards.

That would be my concern, too. Maybe a more-or-less incidental but hard helmet to helmet, which seems to get called quite a bit, should get just the PF call, and the ejection should be reserved for when it's clearly deliberate. Same deal on crossing pattern collisions -- it seems to me there's a difference between a hard hit that could get flagged because the hitter could have avoided it (at the risk of a big play against him) and a guy clearly nailing somebody who doesn't have a prayer of making a catch (or tackle). I'd be afraid that any new rule would lump those things together; better to let the refs decide and just encourage them to be tougher on the truly bad plays.

I kige this.

I also think the ejection should be an automatic review. Make absolutely sure it was a cheap shot before you throw a guy out of the game. And an on field official should never, under any circumstances, be able to issue a penalty that carries over to the next game. That's just too much to put on a snap decision at full speed.
