No. I want you to provide evidence for you assertions.

The point is clear.
Your point is clear, your evidence is not.

A higher PER doesn't always make the TEAM better
You are making a conclusion based on an error of conditional probability.

And in fact a player being less efficient by the definition of PER can help a team.
Another conclusion based on an error of conditional probability.

You're an antagonistic douchebag, but I actually agree with you on a few points. However, the biggest negative to Davis has been his ability to actually stay on the court, not what happens when he's on it. Your favorite & "most predictive" WS stat rates Davis higher than Harden when he's on the court. Efficiency & counting stats have him as good as any player in the league when he's there.

The Pels don't win bc we have players not fit to be on the court together and a coach who shouldn't be a HC, both of which have nothing to do with Davis.

And considering Davis' legendary PER, it isn't unreasonable to conclude that the team could be better if it went down some.
It's not unreasonable, it's just an unfounded assumption that should not presented as an absolute truth.

And the Pels have lots of room to get better.
Agreed. I haven't watched any Pels games (just a bit at the end of a Cavs game earlier in the season).

My issue is that Boom is making a clear logical error and presenting it as an absolute.

For example, we can find millions of individuals that eat healthy and exercise daily, yet they still have health problems that would normally be positively impacted by healthy habits (efficiency in our argument). It would be an illogical conclusion to assume that if they became less healthy, their health would improve.

I wouldn't stay up waiting for boom to spell out a logical argument founded upon logic or statistics. His schtick is to reiterate how people simply "don't know basketball as well as he does" until they find something more worthwhile to do with their lives & move on.

The thing is, I don't care about any individuals or teams this argument is framed around. I just found Boom's comments to be so illogical that I had to chime in.

Well of course, it's my opinion. Just like if I say Houston is gonna win their first playoff series. It would be an unfounded assumption presented as an absolute truth. Not sure why you're pulling this card out on this particular argument people present absolute truths all day on this website that don't have data to support it.

That's not how you presented it.

And if you presented it as an absolute objective truth, I would expect evidence to back up your conclusion.

I always "pull it out." I dislike assumptions and opinions being presented as objective facts. If you have a problem with that, then state that this is your OPINION that lacks evidence. You were being dishonest presenting it otherwise.

Sounds like a personal issue.

I'm not gonna put ' this is my opinion ' or ' this is fact ' in every post.

"I think" or "I believe" are simple but to the point.

Cole just did the exact thing to Terry that Beverley did to Westbrook in the playoffs causing the fluke injury. But nobody here is claiming he's a piece of shite. Weird.

You are saying Davis is having all time great season based on his PER
quote:

So how can you say his season is an all time great by using a metric that if lowered would make the TEAM better?
Wait a minute...where did I say that?

I said he's having a historic season, YOU assumed I said that because of only PER. You're basically reading what you want to read instead of what I actually wrote.
