McHale was terrible last year and probably even worse the season before. Doc is probably the best example of coaches improving. Having a good roster helps, but the more you do something the better you should get at it and he got so much better over his career in Boston.

McHale was useless in Minnesota, and he was useless when he first got here. But he agreed to coach Moreyball, and it's not like Houston could attract a good coach without a single superstar. After getting Harden, and then Dwight, I thought we needed an upgrade, but I think McHale is really starting to figure things out. The Rockets were surprisingly the best team in the NBA after stoppages last year. And he has taken it to a whole new level this year.

Extremely jealous of the Rockets having a coach like McHale tbh. Kerr's done a great job as well, but McHale's done it with much less than Kerr.

The hell? They didn't sign Harden until a week before the season started so they had no preseason (time to gel) and still made the playoffs with the youngest roster in the whole league. They lead the league for almost the entire year in scoring with a core of Asik, Parsons, Lin, Harden. That was a great season.
