NBA fans who want to watch out-of-market games that are not on national television can now do so by the game.

The league announced Wednesday that, for the first time, fans can pay $6.99 to buy any NBA game next season. Fans will be able to watch the game on broadband for computers, tablets and mobile devices. It is not clear which television distributors will participate in offering single games.

The price for the full League Pass -- which has been available since 1994 -- will remain $199.99, but even NBA commissioner Adam Silver said in March at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference that "most people don't want to consume that many games."

Not a chance in hell I'd pay $7 to watch a single random NBA game.

It's only $6.99 if you have zero friends.

Games that are worth watching with friends will likely be on national television though.

I'd pay a dollar or two... but not 7...

The entire league pass is 50-100% more than it should be too

And the one time you need to see Charlotte and Milwaukee vying for the 1 seed in the East, $7 will cover it.

It's that much? I think I paid $140 or $150, whatever it is for MLB.tv. It's well worth it for for my son & I, not mention, you get 162 games for 30 teams for that vs only 82 for the NBA.

ETA: I just looked, it's actually only $130 for MLB.tv.

NBA broadband was $100 last year. You got to choose 6 teams to watch

I bet they would make more money if they did 4.99. Even though it's only 2 more dollars, people would be far more willing to drop 5 than 7.
