Well they do have Dougie Mcdermitt coming off the bench. He looks like a Kyle Korver 2.0. But yea besides him

Woj

Sources: Portland RFA Allen Crabbe has signed a four-year, $75M offer sheet with the Brooklyn Nets. Bonuses could reach $83M.

Even though I think he'll continue to get better....I hope we don't match.

Likely barely in to the luxury tax if they match this and retain Leonard and Harkless, right?

They have Mirotic who shot 39% last year and just drafted Valentine who shot 44%. They aren't as bad off as everyone here is making them out to be.

I'd rather Crabbe for that price than Evan Turner for 70 miles definitely

I found this insightful post on BE:

"My cheat sheet…

Damian Lillard $24,328,425
Allen Crabbe $17,530,774
Evan Turner $17,530,774
Al-Farouq Aminu $7,680,965
Festus Ezeli $7,432,763
Ed Davis $6,666,667
C.J. McCollum $3,219,579
Noah Vonleh $2,751,360
Mason Plumlee $2,328,530
Anderson Varejao $1,984,005
Shabazz Napier $1,350,000
Jake Layman $900,000
Pat Connaughton $874,636
Luis Montero $874,636

For a total of $95,453,114 and $17.8M before luxury tax kicks in."

Depending on the market for Leonard (might be smaller than expected considering there hasnt been anything that I've seen on him?) and Harkless, might be able to squeeze under the luxury tax. Then again, if we match here, the Nets or a team like the Nets with lots of money to blow and not much to look forward to for the future can come in and offer a crazy contract to Leonard because why not it's all they got! I'd rather keep Harkless especially if he's cheapish. Crabbe is a nice guy but he can't create his shot at all. He needs somebody to get him the ball.

Also Alexander was cut

Why? Crabbe is an improving defender and better shooter but that's all you're getting. With Turner you get an actual defender that can put the ball on the court plus he has good vision. His post all star break numbers are fantastic. Unless you have an elite PG, Crabbe doesn't offer anything more excluding potential than say Moore who just signed a much cheaper deal in NO

What about the guards though? Won't help if your stretch 4 is a terrific 3 pointer if the defender is sagging into the passing lane.

I know the pels are in the backup 4 market so Meyers has my interest

No idea what he'll command though or what y'all are doing.

I think he'll get at least 13 per season in this market. No way that you stay under the tax and keep all 3.

Speights to the CLippers. Apologize if that's common knowledge.

Jamal Crawford and Speights sharing minutes will be magical to watch.

Because shooting is so highly valued in the NBA and Crabbe has plenty of time to become a adequate defender. And the blazers have an elite PG and another good ball handler in McCollum. With Turner on the court, you lose a lot of the spacing that McCollum and DLil could use.

If so, it's about 4 years too late.
