I mean tSpurs on paper and knowing their history will cause pause and should but watching them tonight they just don't seem like the same team. Still not someone you want to meet in the first round. At least let someone else stretch the old men out and have them in the 2nd round.

Nah, you're right--the names haven't changed, but this is not the same team that won it all last year.

I really think that mentally they're just not able to get back to where they were at all year long last year. None of 'em ever said it, but I've never seen that kind of hunger out of this group before. This year they just don't have that killer edge.

With the state of the West right now, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we got bounced in round 1. Cannot get any further than 2nd round without finding whatever is missing from last year.

I was too heartbroken to pick up on it early in the year, but I didn't realize how angry they were until that game against Miami when they were finally at full strength and got the Heat at the AT&T Center. The storyline from that game ended up being LeBron bitching about the sleeved uniforms, but that overshadowed the fact that SA absolutely destroyed the Heat that night and looked pissed at the end of the 4th that the game was over and they couldn't continue with the beating

That's just a lot of emotional energy to carry/expend over the course of a long season/playoff run, and as melodramatic as it seems, I just think they couldn't reach that level again mentally this year if they wanted to. It's not even contentment over winning the title--it's exhaustion over avenging '13.

Was that the game the AC went out at the ATT center?

No, this was back in the regular season, actually. I wanna say it was one of the Noche Latina NBA promo nights, but both teams were wearing these short sleeved jerseys.

Come to think of it, I wanna say this was the game that LeBron ditched the mask he was wearing to protect his face.

The game the A/C went out was game 1 of the Finals. But that one was a much closer contest much of the way.
