If this woman is still the players' union boss in 2017, she will seek to destroy the ownership of the NBA.

The players got bent over in the last CBA. Too much money to not play now with that new TV deal

This. Owner's were crying poor and got what they wanted.

Fast forward almost 3 years and the owner's have a $24 billion TV deal and the fricking Clippers have sold for $2 billion.

Classic negotiating ploy. Throw out stuff about wanting to lift the salary cap, blow up the rookie salary scale, trim the season. Then you end up caving on that stuff to guarantee that a bigger cut of league money goes to player salaries.
I don't picture a lockout happening. The players and owners are making way too much money, and they're going to get a lot more money with the new TV contract.

Except that NBA players can't maintain solidarity because the Bentley, bottle service, and child support cost money.

Just for the record, I believe in the NFL lockout, the owners would have taken 100% of the money from the tv deal if they would have missed games. I'm not sure if the same would happen in the NBA.

The players don't need/ deserve a bigger piece, they can't manage what they get now. The season is too long and there are too many teams. They play fricking zone defense (when the actually do d up) and though athleticism is at a high, skills are at an all time low.

I agree with most of what she says.

My only question is whether or not the players are fit for a lockout. It could kill the sport like it did to hockey, but if players bargain right they should get what they deserve.

They are too valuable of a commodity to be doing all of the work, and be splitting half of the revenue.

When were skills higher? When was defense being played better than it is now?

Never been in a better position financially and terms of popularity. It would behoove both sides to get this deal done very quickly. This is a new PA pres. who is trying to establish their position. Steve Ballmer didn't just spent $2 billion to waste a whole season of not playing. Eventually get to look just like baseball the money is too much and the salaries are guaranteed so everyone will just keep moving on. Plus David Stern who's whole goal was always to crush the players is no longer at the bargaining table.
